[RIP] Arnold Palmer has died.

Three figures in sports died this weekend, Arnie, the Marlin's pitcher, and a young football player in Calgary, gunned down outside a nightclub. At least Arnie got to live a long and very fulfilling and eventful life and his grace, gentleness, and generosity to his sport and his fans continue today to be a marker for all professional athletes to try to emulate.

Condolences to his family, but mostly a celebration of a life well lived and with meaning.

Arnold was a class act both on and off the golf course. May he family find piece in knowing he was admired by many.

i got to see him hit the 1st drive at the Master's some years ago on a beautiful Thursday morning

I was on the first fairway at least 150 yards away....it was as close as i could get and still see as the crowds were 10 deep down to where i was

and the roar after he hit it down the middle....

i didnt get to see him play in his prime....before my time

but the adulation of the crowd that day was unreal.....they were still Arnie's army

I could only get tickets for that thursday and friday, and he didnt play that year.....just hit the first tee shot

If only more of our sports guys emulated him, the world would be a much better place

RIP Arnie....

I saw him at the masters as well when I lived in Augusta and got in on a practice round I believe was a Teusday or Wednesday.
