Wish him good luck pursuing an education but his "athletic" career will start and stop with the WWE

If all he has is size going for him that's not insurmountable.

When I played defensive end in High School I brought down players larger and heavier than me.

Just hit them below the knees at a decent angle.

He better bring more than that to the table if he hopes for a future in the NFL.

Doubt you played a lick of anything to do with organized sports but that is not allowed and cost the Gators our starting QB th.is week. Low character guys who dive at someone's knees have no place in sports and should be pummeled on sight

Hello...what part of "below the knees" did you miss?

I played back in the early 70's. That's how the coach taught us, and that's what we did.

I don't follow sports much anymore. I am aware that a lot has changed in the current sport. For uh..."safety" reasons. I guess it's geared for the massive players now, since it's hardly likely that a modern "shoot and rip" would work on someone 7 foot tall and 400 lbs unless you were close in weight.

I'd also like to point out that you have a very...limited tolerance for anyone else's knowledge and experience which gives the impression that you are very young, very inexperienced, and very close-minded. Just an observation. :coffeepap:

Brave is a nose guard. Couldn't he do a decent job on the college level at this position too?

Depends on his ability to block. He would be awesome defending against kicks at that height. He would force the other team's kicker back.

Re blocking, I see him just standing there, immovable.

Judging by his arms I have to conclude that he is not fit. Does he even have a weight room on the reservation?

The problem with that is sometimes you might need your nose guard to do something other than clog up the middle. However, you can be assured there would be fewer passes, runs down the middle, and qb sneaks with that block wall right smack in the middle of the line.

I'm a former powerlifter - at 242 pounds I squatted 640 pounds, bench pressed 410, deadlifted 600 and could clean 275 on a good day. I had puny biceps and my triceps were nothing to write home about. Size is matter of genetics and the way you train. Training sets of 5-6 like most strength athletes do will not get you a massively large musculature.

And then there's the very low fat diet and partial dehydration you need to bring that musculature out........

I was not talking about lack of size, I was talking about the appearance of excessive flab. Kindly take a look at the first pic here and tell me what you think about that right arm:

Oh I'm sure his bodyfat percentage is up there. It's hard to be that big and not carry significant levels of fat. But that doesn't mean he isn't strong as a bull. This is Vasily Alekeyev:

From all appearances he looked like a fat out of shape guy yet he put 570 pounds over his head in the clean and jerk and completely ruled Olympic weightlifting in the superheavy weight division in the 70s. He weighed 350 pounds and is size and physique weren't uncommon - that's the way they did it back then. Even today's superheavies carry a fair amount of fat and pretty much look like this kid.
