Radical Islam pervasive at the Olympics

Well you clearly arent aware us much then, in the 2004 olympics an Iranian athlete went on an eating binge to disqualify himself from facing and Israeli opponent because on the recognition of the Israeli state and president of Iran, Mohammad Khatami said it would be "recorded in the history of Iranian glories" and that the nation considered him to be "the champion of the 2004 Olympic Games"

I also shouldnt have to remind you about the '72 games in Munich. Im surprised that an Israeli athletes show up at the olympics with they way they are treated.

It's because they aren't ******s. They've had enough of being meek and laying down after thousands of years of hate, oppression, and death that culminated in the Holocaust and then fighting multiple wars for their very survival, after they got their state of refuge. They will never lay down like that again.

Not in the NT. We are discussing Jesus. Pay attention.

Yeh I love that heart warming tale where the Jews chose to save a murderer over the " son of god". But at least the ramifications were not to bad over the next 2000 years

I'm no fan of the Israeli government but that has nothing to do with how you treat your fellow Olympians. Bad form.

No one denies what they suffered in the past...but does that justify what they have done wrong to the Palestinians? I know, I know, you hear all about the attacks by the Palestinians...but didja think that maybe, just maybe there's two sides to the story? Start with the fact that the following items were NOT ALLOWED to be brought into the Gaza Strip until 2010:

According to Amnesty International, the Economist, Haaretz and UN reports, prior to June 2010, the following were banned or restricted:

Food. According to a UN report, importation of lentils, pasta, tomato paste and juice has been restricted.[15] Pasta has since been allowed. Sugar has always been allowed.[14] Soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, potato chips, cookies and candy are now permitted.[16] Fruit, milk products in small packages and frozen food products are also allowed.[14] Dry food,[17] ginger and chocolate were at one point barred.[18]

The words "now permitted" means that they weren't permitted before. IOW, cookies, candy and the like were NOT ALLOWED to be brought into the Gaza Strip...and so the kids couldn't even have freaking candy.

Household items. A4 paper,[18] crayons, stationery, soccer balls, and musical instruments have been, at times, banned for import.[17] AFP includes toilet paper as a banned good,[4] though the BBC lists it as permitted.[3] According to the Haaretz the following items were banned in 2009: books, candles, crayons, clothing, cups, cutlery, crockery, electric appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines, glasses, light bulbs, matches, musical instruments, needles, sheets, blankets, shoes, mattresses, spare machine and car parts, and thread.[14]

A4 paper? Soccer ball? Freaking TOILET PAPER? Crayons? Sheets? Shoes? What possible rationale is there for banning such items from being imported into the Gaza Strip????

Reconstruction materials. Amnesty International and other organisations report that cement, glass, steel, bitumen, wood, paint, doors, plastic pipes, metal pipes, metal reinforcement rods, aggregate, generators, high voltage cables and wooden telegraph poles are high priority reconstruction materials currently with no or highly limited entry into Gaza through official crossings.[19] A UN report by Kevin M. Cahill said reconstruction was halted because of lack of steel, cement or glass, among other building materials.[15]

Fuel. Fuel had not been imported from Israel since 2008. While fuel is available from Egypt, in contrast to Israeli fuel, it damages the newer cars in Gaza and causes malfunctions. Israel allowed only limited amounts of industrial fuel into Gaza prior to June 2010.[14]

Meaning, "Once we bomb your houses in retaliation, you can't rebuild. At all."

Agriculture and fishing. According to Gisha, fishing ropes and rods, ginger and chocolate, hatcheries and spare parts for hatcheries, were at one point barred.[18]

Fishing poles? Ginger? Freaking CHOCOLATE? Why? What's the rationale?

Medical material. Batteries for hearing aids have been restricted.[15] Wheelchairs, at various times, have been banned.[17]

Even wheelchairs. Even freaking wheelchairs.

You didn't hear any of this from right-wing sources, did you? And y'all wonder why the Palestinians get pissed off and attack. YES, the Palestinians are to be held responsible - no argument there! But how the heck do you think ANY people would react if the above items were not allowed to be imported because Israel (rightly or wrongly) was pissed at what other people on your side of the border did? What Israel did, did not serve to "get the Palestinians to behave". What Israel did was to make it a heck of a lot worse.

There's at least two sides to every story - it's time that y'all learned that Israel isn't as blameless and upright as you've been led to believe for all these years.

The Isrealis won without having to compete, so its good for them.

I can't imagine athletes at that level want to win without competing.

You're the one who argued and probably still argues that Singapore is a Muslim country because they have the a crescent in their flag and a small minority of their population are followers of Islam, undoubtedly the most idiotic argument ever made in this board's history, so I'm not surprised you'd make such stupid arguments again. The items were banned, were means they are no longer banned, the rationale was that they go to the Hamas troops and the Hamas troops alone as Hamas rules the Gaza Strip and uses every aid it gets for its own good first and only then for the citizens who aren't members of this terror organization. Your explanation that Palestinians commit acts of barbaric terrorism becuase of this 2007-2010 policy to restrict such items is frankly quite idiotic as these attacks existed nearly a hundred years before that and have existed ever since. Your claim that every people will turn to terrorism and barbaric acts of murder of complete innocents based on their religious belief or ethnicity is also idiotic and is known to not be true as there were dozens of cases of economic blockades not leading to terrorism. Thanks for the good laughs though.

Ignorance proudly displayed, like usual.

Only from you. Islam is a religion. Islam can be USED, politically... as can Christianity, Judaism, and other religions. You really need to learn some actual information on this issue, rather than just spewing anti-Muslim lunacy.

I have said many times Islam is an ideology/religion. Pay attention. It is a complete system. It entails every aspect of life.

And you also said this:

Islam is political, not religious.

So tell us... did you lie? And if not, which coldjoint is correct? Seems like you are arguing with yourself.

So starving the entire population to prevent fighters taking most of what there is is a good thing? You don't see a flaw in that plan?

Moderator's Warning:
People... remember what this topic is about... and that it is NOT about Israeli-Palestinian issues. We have a sub-forum for that.

Starving an entire population? What the ****?

No ,you need to learn more and find out the anti-everything but Islam that religion spews. Using other religions is a piss poor excuse to rationilze the hate that comes from Islam.

Islam is more political than religious. There is no lie in my post just a lack of comprehension on your part.
