DP Fantasy Football 2016

I'll take last dibs, of us 4, for an opening. I nonetheless reserve the right to heckle.

I'll see if there's enough interest posted for the consolation league. I've done this since I've started DP. I've always tried every week and never walked away from my team, though one year I probably should have.
I'll play in the second league as well if you need more teams.

maybe we should have a champions league...

You mean for heckling, right?

That's half the fun of Fantasy Football. Of course...the other half is 'winning'.

Eh, the other rejected folks haven't expressed any interest. Thanks for being willing to play with the rejects though (I may still have a tiny bit of resentment about this).

No reason we cant have two if others want to.

And If people want a real challenge...lets bump this to a 14-16 team league.

As of now we have two spots available. There are two who haven't joined yet. If they don't join later today, I will send out offers to YS and Eco tonight.

Invites sent to YS and Eco.

Cool, I'm in. Never played fantasy football before. Did fantasy hockey one year. Can't remember how I did. We'll see how it goes.

I pick 2nd in my other league (ppr), Beckham given Jones' twisted ankle. Are we ppr, can we get draft order?

I figure...

1. Brown
2. Beck/Jones
3. Beck/Jones
4. Hopkins
5. Freeman/Peterson
7. Elliot/Johnson
9. Gurley/

Two words: auto draft. Yeah, I know, everyone likes to think they're a wizard at picking the right players and folks like Mack, Red and Zyph really are and nobody's more diligent than Eco. Auto drafting, I think, is like cheating to some, but, the teams I've had that went the furthest were auto drafted (yes, I can admit it).

You'll really like playing. It gives you a reason to care about more games than just the ones involving your favorite teams. You can see why that's a good thing given who my favorite team is. It also changes how you watch football. You might even find yourself rooting for a player against your own favorite team. The DP league is a really good one to be in for your first time. Everyone's into their team right until the end and there's always bragging rights to play for. It's why I was immediately disappointed to not get a chance to play this year but that's no excuse for acting like a giant baby about it the way I did. Sincere apologies for that, especially to Hugh.

Have a great time, but beware. It's pretty damn addictive.

YS, Eco, yourself, and a351 make 4. If you guys can find at least 4 more you can run a second league. I think that happened one other year.

I didn't appreciate it before but this is a really good idea. I am, in fact, now working on that very thing. Thank you for the suggestion.

So rather happy with my first 6 picks recently in a draft. Was last pick of 8 in a PPR league.

Julio Jones
Adrian Peterson
Jamaal Charles
Greg Olson
Mike Evans
Matt Forte

The #1 in a Kyle Shanahan offense always has a monster year. AP is AP and has shown no signs of slowing down. Charles is a gamble this year, but worth it at the end of the 3rd round. Olsen was a bit of a reach, but there was a MAD run for tight ends early and he's a PPR monster. Evans is poised for a good year with Winston seemingly making a big leap. And Forte, if he can stay healthy, could also be a PPR monster.

Feels really weird getting Charles at the end of the 3rd.

In my other league, I need to fill RB2 and W/R/T. Among these: Murray, Stewart, John Brown, Duke Johnson. I know, Cleveland RB seems absurd, but he's projected for 11 (Murray 9, Stewart 10 and Brown 11). I'm not convinced Murray will get most of the workload and he's against my defense (Min) this week. Stewart is against Denver. For now, I've Brown and Johnson starting. Suggestions/notes?

Who is who in this league? Obviously I'm "the Johnson is yuuge"

Nobody will ever guess my team name and I ain't talkin'.

I'm the Regulators...the D draft team predicted to go 0-15

Green 1 Peterson 0

I won in both my prize leagues, daily and season, so a good week.

Green was definitely the better pick there. I was hoping you would pick Peterson.

Was auto first two picks. Probably would have taken Peterson.

Gettin' killed another week here, but winning in my pay league.

Good to see you around. It wouldn't hurt for you to stir things up a bit in the forum, or the Basement. :)

I've been insanely busy lately. I just bought a house that I'm gut remodeling myself, had another little rugrat born back in may, not to mention my regular full time gig and additional work as a volunteer homeless and mental health advocate.

How've you been?

You're quite the family man.

I'm saving money to buy land in Kenya. I've got enough for 2-3 acres and would like to continue saving to perhaps 5 (another couple years). My dissertation was nearly finished at UF (my heart wasn't in it for the final hoops to publishing, formatting and other such boring stuff), I plan to finish and publish with a university in Kenya, to become a part of that system. Once there I'll farm, teach and lobby the Tea Board for organic certified production (pics, which you've probably seen, at my profile/album).

With Peterson going down, my auto-drafted first pick (Green) is looking fantastic. Let this be a lesson - auto-draft knows best. :)

I've given you guys a 2 week head-start (because I'm too awesome), but next week things get serious!

I was fortunate to have DeAngelo Williams fall to me in a place where I thought the value was too good to pass up. I get to ride him for one more week and after that I'm going to have to get creative. I also took a late flyer on Josh Gordon but with the current state of the Cleveland Browns at QB that one might not pan out so well.
