It's March Madness time and arguably the worst job of seeding the committee has ever done.

I agree. Virginia as a #1 seed (at the expense of Michigan State) is egregious, and I'm still trying to figure out how Syracuse made the cut.

Regardless, because of how the selection committee put this together my bracket will be useless in no time.

Hell, you could make the argument that the general state of college basketball has made the bracket effectively useless this year. There are so very few, if any, "locks" to make the final four.

MS (29-5) captured a Power-5 tournament title. Virginia (26-7) didn't capture anything.

The Spartans aren't a dominant team. They're not a 1 seed.

No. I can say I've been watching the Spartans all year long and they're not great.

So, you say Michigan St shouldn't be one of the top four seeds, but you can't name four teams that are better.

the seeding is truly the pits. So sick of michigan st getting a handout to the final four and it's cause mark hollis their AD is on the committee. It has by far the worst 1, 3, and 4 seeds in any bracket

doesn't matter, cause their path to reach the final 4 is so easy. Rather be a 2 seed in that bracket than a 1 seed anywhere else

I get that, but that's not the argument. In my teams case (Arizona), many of our fans thought we deserved a 5 seed, but our path as a 6th seed is a bit easier in the South region.

well it should be the argument, because there is no trophy for getting a 1 seed and losing in the regionals

If up to mark hollis, michigan st would be a 16 seed and the worst 15 teams in the whole tournament would be ranked ahead in the same bracket. Then they can be the first 16 seed to go all the way!

Just not feeling it, at least not yet. College ball just has not grabbed my attention much this year. That said though, I do have some favorites.

Top seed teams: Xavier and MSU

Mid-level: Dayton and Uconn

Team that should do well in the Dance and outperform their regular season: Ky

And another thing. These play-in games are bull****. 64 teams is more than enough. With 32 conference champions that leaves 32 at-large berths. If your not good enough to get one of 32 spots too bad.

Back to the play-in games. If you're going to have them then having conference champions in them is also bull****. The play-in games should have the last 8 at-large teams to make the tournament.

(climbs off soap box)

but

and this is a BIG but

it is so very hard to bet against Tom Izzo come tournament time

year in and year out, he has one of the best tournament records around

there is NO sure fire # 1 seed destined to get to the final four like Kentucky from past years

parity may be a word many hate, but this year it actually is true

i can see 12-14 teams with legitimate shots to win it all

i have filled out four brackets and each one has a different winner

out of my 4 brackets, my winners are

6 seed
2 seed
2 seed
1 seed

Arizona? :)

And they're off. FGCU came to play.
