Manziel Saga...Death Watch?

No wonder his agent dropped hum like a hot potato.

**** just got real

Johnny Manziel's strike ruptured ex-girlfriend's eardrum, her lawyer says

Hell, not even Dallas will take him now

Oh, never say never. Seriously. Manziel is only 23, and there are reach-outs we don't know about. Among those we do are Michael Irwin's, Shaq's, and former teammate Von Miller.

The ruptured eardrum thing was reported a couple of days ago, and now an ABC affiliate has Colleen Crowley's affidavit, which explains why the helicopter was used to search for Manziel.

If Shaq really wants to fix him then he ought to give him a beatdown. There are adults that need a spanking and Johnny Fball is one of them.

The whole men "controlling women" issue is something I need to read up on. I know it's prevalent. But I have no idea what the root causes behind it are. Most of us get emotional when we argue, but what makes some of us go off the hook and kidnap, beat down or even kill them when we see a relationship slipping away?

It just keeps getting better and better. And kind of goes back to these teams covering for these guys and never saying no.

Browns lied for Manziel after he showed up drunk to practice
By Jaclyn Hendricks February 9, 2016 | 12:10pm

Johnny Manziel’s tangled web of troubles only gets worse by the day.

The Browns quarterback reportedly showed up to practice inebriated on Dec. 30, just days ahead of the regular-season finale against the Steelers, leading the organization to announce their starter was undergoing the concussion protocol to cover up the incident.

“I was with a Browns player yesterday. Johnny Manziel, going in to what would have been a start late in the season, showed up drunk at practice on a Wednesday,” NFL Network’s Michael Silver reported. “The Browns lied and said he was in the concussion protocol. Let me say that again: The Browns lied. To try to protect and, I would argue, enable this irresponsible and very troubled young man.”

Manziel, who is currently at the center of a domestic violence investigation following an altercation with ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley, is set to be released by the Browns next month. The 23-year-old played in 14 games in his two seasons in Cleveland, and has been on a troubling downward spiral for the past several months.

Explains why they didn't announce his concussion situation until late in the week.

Hard to believe he is this out of control so quickly. I guess, the writing was on the wall, but still...just damn.

If the writing wasn't legible he would have missed it...

No wonder his agent dropped hum like a hot potato.

You are full of the metaphores lately... his agent could have worn heat gloves.

Fortunately, the hearing loss is not expected to be permanent:

According to a February 8 report by ESPN, Colleen Crowley’s attorney spoke to Dallas-Fort Worth television station NBC5 on Monday, revealing the model suffered a ruptured eardrum during her alleged altercation with Manziel. While Colleen Crowley is expected to regain her ability to hear out of the ear in time, she is currently unable to do so.

Johnny Manziel domestic violence case sent to grand jury
6:12 PM ET
ESPN.com news services

The Dallas Police Department issued a statement Thursday saying it has referred the Johnny Manziel domestic violence investigation to a grand jury to decide if Manziel will be charged.

"The investigation of the domestic violence assault involving Jonathan Manziel, which occurred on January 30, 2016, has been completed. Today, a Class A misdemeanor Assault/Domestic Violence case has been referred to the Dallas County District Attorney's office for presentation to the grand jury. The Dallas Police Department will not release any details of the investigation while it is pending grand jury presentation."

The police completed their investigation into a Jan. 30 incident in which the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner's ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, alleged he attacked her. Manziel has not been arrested.

Crowley has alleged that the former Texas A&M star and Cleveland Browns first-round draft pick accosted her several times at a Dallas hotel, then later struck her when they drove back to her apartment in Fort Worth.

She said she tried to escape a car Manziel was driving but that he dragged her back into the vehicle. She says Manziel hit her so hard that she temporarily lost hearing in one ear.

If he gets arrested on this and it goes to a trial his NFL career is over. A suspension will surely happen then. I doubt even a moron like Jerry Jones would want to put up with all this nonsense and drama.

i have an alternate view
the problem child is manziel's ex-girlfriend
she appears to be a drama queen
give him a solid O line and johnny football will light up the NFL

Everyone is entitled to their own views. But with or even the many times without this particular girlfriend he's been in trouble. So I wouldn't put all the blame on her. In his 2 years in the NFL Manziel's been known much more for his off the field antics then his on the field talent.

Some couples are just gasoline and a match. I suspect Manziel was in just such a relationship.

Manziel is a flaming idiot so he probably attracts some real winners.

yeah domestic violence is pretty rare in the NFL

It's his life, not his father's.

If he wants to kill himself intentionally/unintentionally with drugs/booze/whatever, that is not his father's business...assuming Johnny Football is sane AND assuming he is not committing violent acts due to his addiction.

I was a crack addict (I quit in '02) and my family - despite the best of intentions often - did more harm then good to me with my problem. They had no idea what I was going through and no idea how to help.

In the end, I quit on my own, by myself...when I wanted to badly enough.

People quit addictions when they want to badly enough, not before. You cannot make them want to quit, they have to reach that conclusion on their own.

And if you have never been as addict, you CANNOT know what it is like...period. And you cannot know what addicts need...period. Only addicts can know.

If you really want to help an addict you care for, then tell them you love them, tell them you wish they would stop as you are scared you will lose them and never, EVER give them financial support. Give 'em food or emergency shelter but always assume they will steal from you the first chance they get. Never turn your back on an addict.

Well, Manziel was cut yesterday. He knew this was coming but continued on his cross-country party tour. He had hoped that the Cowboys would want him, but apparently they don't.

His own father has expressed the fear that he won't see his 24th birthday, I hope he's wrong, but the pitiable downward spiral of the former "Johnny Football" continues.
