Total and Complete Ownership-Serena Williams owns Maria Sharapova

There's been rumors she's been using PED's for awhile. As for them testing her? Who knows? Let's face it the way tennis is run even if she's dirty they may hide it. And no just her, any of the top players. Soccer.. The NCAA.. I don't trust any of them. They're all so intent on protecting their 'brand', I have no doubt tennis would look the other way if any or their top players were doping.

Testing is my issue. We saw that Lance Armstrong and Co were tested for years and nothing was officially found. US testing is better than it was, but that is not saying much since it was absolutely horrible for so many years... and you could claim it was organised big time. It is all about money in the end. Lance Armstrong was not busted because the sport and sponsors needed him to be the American hero and all that. Same for Carl Lewis, who has all but admitted he was doped during his many medals. Or Marion Jones.. when was she busted? At the end of her career, despite being suspected for so long. And then there is the attitude to doping in the American national sports of Baseball and American Football. When was it the last time a top player was busted at the height of his career?

Baseball is the only sport where I think if a top player was doping the MLB would still suspend him. And not because baseball is morally superior to other sports, or has integrity. Or anything like that. But because part of baseball's 'brand' it wants to protect is it's history, and past records. Baseball's history is very important to the game, and to protect it they would suspend a player in his prime. When doping in MLB was going on big time 15-20 years ago the MLB DID look the other way they took a HUGE beating from the public and MLB's fans. So today? I think they'd suspend anyone, at anytime.

Anyway I'm not saying all sports organizations always look the other way. A lot of these guys today know how to beat the system and the tests. But IMO most of the time the organizations would protect their athletes(in other words protect their money flow) before they'd suspend or ban them.

Yes now.. maybe. Why? Because they got exposed with their pants down...

Oh yeah. MLB got dragged in front of Congress, a couple of times. They took a beating on the PR front. IMO MLB may have the best drug policy and enforcement right now, which is strange to say because 15 years ago they had NO policy.
