So the Niners sack Jim Tomsula after only one season? Wow, talk about how far that franchise has fallen.

Word on the Browns is that they are done with Johnny Manziel- he apparently wasnt reachable and was later spotted at a casino in LAs Vegas. I do hope Jerry Jones takes a chance on him lol.

At least they waited until the end of the season instead of doing it with only one game to go like the Eagles did to Chip Kelly.

Johnny No-Balls was done a long time ago. As for Jerry Jones, I think he's looking to create the NFL version of the circus sideshow and Manziel would fit right in.

Why show up? He knows he'll be cut....hell, he probably hopes and prays everyday that he'll be cut. Browns suck.

I'm baffled. Pats lose 4 of their last 6 but still get the 2 seed. What gives? Bengals tied them at 12-4, 9-3 in the afc, but they went 5-1 in the division while NE went 4-2. Anyone out there know what the deal is with the NFL tiebreaker here?

I disagree, if youre a player with a contract then you ought to show up when the coaches want you to. If Manziel ends up being cut he has no one to blame but himself.

He burned that bridge a month ago. He was going to be cut the minute his mug popped up on that viral video.

Check the record against teams they both played. That's how Pittsburgh got in ahead of the Jets - better record against teams they both played.

NFL Tie-Breaking Procedures

OTHER TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES
Only one club advances to the playoffs in any tie-breaking step. Remaining tied clubs revert to the first step of the applicable division or Wild Card tie-breakers. As an example, if two clubs remain tied in any tie-breaker step after all other clubs have been eliminated, the procedure reverts to Step 1 of the two-club format to determine the winner. When one club wins the tiebreaker, all other clubs revert to Step 1 of the applicable two-club or three-club format.
In comparing records against common opponents among tied teams, the best won-lost-tied percentage is the deciding factor, since teams may have played an unequal number of games.

To determine home-field priority among division-titlists, apply Wild Card tie-breakers.
To determine home-field priority for Wild Card qualifiers, apply division tie-breakers (if teams are from the same division) or Wild Card tiebreakers (if teams are from different divisions).
To determine the best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed, add a team's position in the two categories, and the lowest score wins. For example, if Team A is first in points scored and second in points allowed, its combined ranking is "3." If Team B is third in points scored and first in points allowed, its combined ranking is "4." Team A then wins the tiebreaker. If two teams are tied for a position, both teams are awarded the ranking as if they held it solely. For example, if Team A and Team B are tied for first in points scored, each team is assigned a ranking of "1" in that category, and if Team C is third, its ranking will still be "3."

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.

Total train wreck. And now they are sniffing around at Chip Kelly. What a Chinese Fire Drill.

I believe Chip Kelly expressed interest, not the 49'ers.

Although Kelly might be a good hire in salvaging Kapernick's career I don't see how Jed York is going to hire someone that maybe a bigger a-hole/control freak than Jim Harbaugh.

As a Cards fan please make it so.

So did the Panthers, and now look at them. Why show up? Well, beyond contract and money, there is the fleeting antiquity called ethics, vis–à–vis keeping your word. But, maybe that's just me.

Johnny Football is an alcoholic-plus....there is only "me" in that equation.

His NFL career looks to be short. What team is going to take on that reclamation project?

"Hi, we're from the Raiders and we'd like to talk to you."

Wow! Three teams fight for the right to beg to move to LA. SD, Oakland and StL all filed yesterday.

Hopefully... :D

But, but the Raiders are finally improving. Maybe if Chip Kelly finds a place to host his genius, Johnny could find a place there as well.

The third tie-breaker, after head to head and conference record, seems to be common games. Both teams played Houston, Pittsburgh, Denver, and Buffalo. Patriots were 4-1 and Cinci was 1-4.
NE beat Buff twice, while CINC lost, Beat Pitt while Cinci was 1-1. Beat Hous while Cinc lost, and both teams lost to Denver.

Bengals lost to the Cardinals not the Bills. They lost to Houston, Pitt and Denver. Bengals beat the Bills. So, in the 4-game match up it was P's 3-1; B's 1-3. But, I get what you mean.
