Irish bred IVEAGH GARDENS trained in Ireland by Charles O'Brien and ridden by Irish jockey Fran Berry is bound to win the 2.20

I sometimes forget that horse racing is an actual sport.

It is. And a great one at that.
I so agree. I try never to miss the live broadcasts from England on Saturday afternoons. The beauty of the horses, look at the action of Iveagh Gardens above! The partnership of horse and jockey is wonderful to see. The excitement of the race has us on the edge of the chair. Commentators too add to our knowledge and the callers of the races usually gives a mention even to to back markers. The interviews with trainers and all the color is a great show and then you can get money when your skill in studying the form and reading the tipsters pays off.

I laugh at people who use their money to gamble on lotteries and casinos. Chances of winning anything of substance are slim to none. With a little bit of knowledge and study, one can make a living wagering horses if they wanted to. The odds are so much better! In the last 3 years, I have made about $6000 on the Kentucky Derby alone.

You must be a big spender.
I wager only €3 on one horse to win each race, always on the nose and usually only on Saturdays (certain meetings such as Royal Ascot are over several days). During the summer flat season which ended two weeks ago I won about €250. We are now beginning the steeple chasing and it is even more exciting watching the horses make the jumps. Fingers crossed!

No, not really. I have an online wagering account. So far, I have deposited $100... once about 10 years ago, and another about 1 1/2 year ago, after I had won about $3500 in the Derby (after scoring on a $1 trifecta) and had cleaned out my account. I am not the sharpest handicapper nor do I wager a lot of races. I like to pick my spots and mostly avoid 2 year-old races where a lot is unknown. But as a form of making money, to me, it's the best odds. Sure, I won't make a million dollars, but I'd much rather take even 50-1 odds on a horse rather then 300 million-1 trying to win a lottery.

Not one of my tips paid-off today.
There is always next week.
