I can understand that. He was a damn good set-up man. The Nats were building a team around pitching, having him in the BP can be seen as nothing but a plus. I was surprised they traded him. He seems to have lost something now, IDK, maybe his stint as a closer with the A's changed his outlook. Might take him awhile to get back into the 8th inning mindset.
In fairness, Yunel Escobar (obtained in the Clippard trade) turned out to be a valuable bat after all the Nats' injuries, but Clippard was a favorite around here.
