Rugby world cup

Brilliant pic of the brothers Windsor.

The failed football players making life difficult for the scots. So many handling errors out there.

It's looking slightly better now, though the Scots are unfamiliar with playing in sunshine! 32-16

Yeah, they remembered how they played against Japan in the second half.

Worrying Irish performance, complete lack of presence between the front line and the wings.

Can't believe Ireland v Romania has the World Cup attendance record. Should last a week.

****ing welsh, lucky ****s.

We were out own worst enemy, poor discipline simply played into Welsh hands and those penalties were convereted.

No luck about it, we threw that away.

Bless this world cup. Excellent atmosphere and camera work, plus some unexpectedly thrilling games. Never expected a good watch from the double header of wales-fiji and france-canada.

Canada rapidly becoming a favourite team without a w.

Okay, score at half time reflecting territory better. I reckon Samoa looked at Scotland's tactic of battering the smaller team and tried to emulate. But the scots played within the rules.

Japans' decision to keep kicking penalties is baffling. Throwing away any chance of qualification.

Way to go Japan!!!
Unbelievable. Pinch me.

Was a superb game wasn't it?

Japan's sheer determination and defensive courage really made life hard for the Samoans who were visibly extremely frustrated at their lack of progress.

Stupid mistakes have cost us on both games. Deserve to go out.

That was a hard evening of rugby to watch, this team was supposed to be an improvement on the team of 2011 and the only good I can see is that we've had none of the off-pitch clownish behaviour that bedeviled us in 2011.

At least we got through to the second stages (even badly) then. Poor discipline and then to be muscled out of the scrum: seems our preparations have been second rate in comparison to those who prepared themselves to play us.

We were out played all over the park. Like you say our scrum was abysmal, our discipline poor (again) and as everyone keeps saying: what are Englands best starting line up? Because I'm pretty damn sure Lancaster doesn't have a clue. Farrell needs to grow up fast, not just the latest incident, but he keeps doing this kind of thing (late/high tackles) and I don't buy the crap that he's "a player who plays on the edge". NO, he's a player that needs to cut it out and mature. We promised so much, again, but fell very flat. What for the future?

It's unusual to go out that soon when you're the host nation :(

Never mind, the rest will soon join you :)

Wales look tidy though...

It was also at a crucial point in the game. While I think it was a tough ask for England to continue that late momentum to catch up with the aussies, his yellow card and sin-binning really didn't help because the penalty gave Australia breathing room and put us under pressure which made us take risks that definitely ended our chances.

Something needs to change, the home nations seem to make up the numbers. England beat both Wales and Australia in the last year and they both used that to learn and move past us. I hope one of the 6 nations teams does well.

I'm just very disappointed for now.

Woeful Irish victory. Can't see any NH sides in the semis. Argies look like they could handle either Ireland or France.

Looking forward to the game tonight if I can stay awake for another few hours. It's not on until 2.45am here.

What a match so far between the scots and samoa.

Brave performance by the scots in the second half. Teams need to stop kicking for the corner though!

Sorry for Japan.

10 minutes in to Wales - Aus and I may need to review this statement.
