2015 NFL Season

Seen some very weird things in the NFL this year.

Inadvertent whistle? What? And what made it even weirder was after the Ref explained everything to the two coaches, even though the pats probably got screwed out of a TD, Ryan looked more PO'ed than Belechick did.

The poor browns. I mean seriously is there a worse run organization in the NFL? They let ESPN draft Manziel for them, now they are stuck with this loser. And they wasted a high draft pick on him.

Tigers can't change their stripes.(both the Browns and Manziel)

Johnny Manziel has been replaced by Josh McCown as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Tuesday.

One week after being named the team's starter, Manziel has been demoted to the third-string quarterback for Monday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens after social media posts surfaced this week showing Manziel allegedly partying last weekend in Texas during the team's bye week.

"Everyone in this organization wants what is best for Johnny just like we do for every player in our locker room. I'm especially disappointed in his actions and behavior because he has been working very hard," head coach Mike Pettine said in a statement.

"The improvements from last year to this year have been tremendous but he still has to consistently demonstrate that he has gained a good understanding of what it takes to be successful at the quarterback position on this level. It goes well beyond the field. We are going to continue to support him in every way possible, but at this point, we've decided it's best to go with Josh as the starter going forward."

Cleveland Browns to start Josh McCown over Johnny Manziel

read the article
benched because he partied during his bye week
why is that found to be a problem?

Because he said he wasnt going to and he has been in rehab for alcohol and has had quite a few alcohol related incidents since

I read the article.

Anyway as was pointed out he went in rehab for his alcohol use. Also he promised the Browns his partying days were over(during the season). There's a lot of time to drink and party AFTER the season is over.

And BTW just a few weeks ago rumors were he got into a fight(hit her) with his girlfriend, while he was DRUNK. Again, after his rehab and promises to behave, etc., etc.

He's lied to the Browns many times. This is their way of saying, enough.

but what did he do other than attend a party?
did he act inappropriate?
did he bring disrepute upon his team?
did all of the other team members and staff refrain from any fun engagements during bye week?
a well known wealthy young single professional athlete partied during bye week
sounds normal to me

Hes an alcoholic who promised his team he wouldnt drink and then relapsed not by just going to a party but multiple parties and not just getting caught on camera but preforming into the camera. Its not hard to see why the Browns wernt happy with that and only an addict would call that normal behavior.

I think the point is Manziel obviously has a drinking problem. His partying and drinking are more important to him than being a good QB. Let's face it, the guy is a awful QB. For him to even be average he needs to buckle down. I think the Browns are maybe to the point of realizing he's never going to be serious about being a QB. He's still acts like a college kid. Huge difference between being a college QB and a Pro QB.

Add this to hitting his GF while he was drunk. It's something every few weeks with him, and I think the Browns are just tired of it.

Thats where you are wrong. hes only had 5 starts and hes already a decent QB throwing the ball to go along with his excellent running, he has a lot of potential

the browns want a choir boy at QB

Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth would not have fared well if subjected to this kind of management at NY

We're going to disagree here. He's awful. In 2 years he's got 5 Td passes, 4 Ints. and 6 fumbles. With a completion % under 60%.

He's not good, he never will be. He's a college QB, and that's all he will ever be.

Micky Mantle and Babe Ruth were Micky Mantle and Babe Ruth. Manziel is, well, Manziel. If he can be the Babe Ruth of the NFL I'm sure the Browns will look the other way.

If Tom Brady had a drinking problem I doubt the Pats, or anyone would drop him to 3rd string. Like it or not performance matters.

assuming he had enough passes to qualify his passer rating for this year would be right next to: Joe Flacco, Matt Stafford, Matt Ryan, Ryan Tannehill, Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewatter and Cam Newton.

Would it be fair to assume you think all of those guy are just "college QBs" destined to fail in the NFL?

They just want someone who doesnt lie about their drinking problem

Except for Flacco.. Pretty much. (Ryan is having a so,so year, not fair to point to him for just this year) Anyway I need to see more, that's my point with any QB.

Most of Manziel's 'rating' this year was 1 game, against the Steelers. Who everyone thinks because they are the Steelers are a great defensive team. But they are not, especially against the pass. Tim Teabow reached legendary status because of his 1 playoff win, he had a great passing game. Against the Steelers, then Teabow faded away and can't even get a job in the NFL, even though there's a dozen teams in desperate need of a QB.

My long drawn out point is, lets not make any QB out to be good, or decent unless he was 2-3 good years under his belt. See Teabow. Griffin III, and even Kaepernick.

Actually most of his rating for this year came from his win against the Titans who have one of the best pass defenses. The point was that on the field Manziel has proven he can play decently and that he deserves those 2 or 3 years you are talking about to see if he can be a good QB. However it looks like his off the field issues will prevent that from happening.

(3-7) Dallas Cowboys are FAVORED over (10-0) Carolina Panthers

NFL Line Movements for Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys by Las Vegas Sportsbooks at VegasInsider.com.

I think its time yall come out of the closet and profess your Romosexuality

The Panthers don't get any respect from anyone, including the book makers. I've heard so many times that they are the worst team to go this far undefeated - and they repeat the claim on TV and radio and in print, each week.

The local Charlotte Fox sports guy said, he can't wait to hear how the Panthers are the worst team to ever win the Super Bowl.

They're dangerously thin on offense. That's about their only weakness.

They should beat Dallas, though.

They are very dangerously thin on offense in that they have no "big play" and consistent receivers other than Olson - Gynn is great on kick returns but sometimes he couldn't catch a pass if he were a three year old and the ball was a head cold. They do have a good running game, but even Oher isn't doing that great on the O-Line this year - although they have been able to give Newton a decent amount of time in the pocket, they can't seem to make holes by manhandling the D-Line for the backs up the middle. Other than that, the O is not too bad.

The Defense goes through spells. The D-Line has been having it's way with other teams O-Line but if they have to stay on the field that long at all they run out of gas and it happens so damned fast, too. One play they are mopping the field with the D-Line and the very next play it's like they all popped sleeping pills. No one, however, has better linebackers than Carolina, no one (maybe as good, but not better). The secondary is so young, but has done some fantastic work this year as well - I really look forward to seeing them mature over the next few years.

Figures on linebackers with that being Rivera's position.
But he wasn't good enough for the Bears.
Neither was Olson--colossal ****-up .

Ya think?

I couldn't believe it when it happened and I'm grateful each game day that it did.

Well, again I disagree. We all know how it works in any sport. The talented guys get a lot more rope to hang themselves then the marginal players do. The Browns are desperate for a QB. If they saw ANY potential in Manziel he wouldn't have been benched. IMO he probably has played his last game for the Browns. If the Browns saw anything in him they would have looked the other way.

I'm going to go back to Teabow. After the Broncos released him most people thought he'd be a starter somewhere. When he was with the Jets, a team who hasn't had a good QB since Namath he couldn't get on the field. There's a whole bunch of teams looking for a QB, but Teabow sits at home. The fans see those 4-5 good games he had and wonder why he can't get a job. But the teams see him on the practice field, and see how bad he is. That is all we need to know.

Same with Manziel. The Browns wouldn't have given up on him if they saw something in him.

The Bears gave Lovie Smith too much power after the superbowl loss- huge mistake.
