2014 NFL Pick'em Game!

I pick teh bears to lose and they win. Typical. :doh

Oh well, its the Vikings. Bears will probably win the next one since its Lovie Smith's Bucs though after that I doubt they will win again.

My Power Rankings as of Tuesday, 11/11/2014:

1. Denver Broncos.
2. Dallas Cowboys.
3. Kansas City Chiefs.
4. Seattle Seahawks.
5. Miami Dolphins.
6. Arizona Cardinals.
7. New England Patriots.
8. San Francisco 49ers.
9. Green Bay Packers.
9. Baltimore Ravens.
11. Indianapolis Colts.
12. Philadelphia Eagles.
13. New Orleans Saints.
14. Buffalo Bills.
15. Detroit Lions.
16. Cincinnati Bengals.
17. Cleveland Browns.
18. Houston Texans.
19. Pittsburgh Steelers.
20. San Diego Chargers.
21. New York Giants.
22. Atlanta Falcons.
22. Minnesota Vikings.
24. Tennessee Titans.
25. Washington Redskins.
26. New York Jets.
27. Chicago Bears.
28. St. Louis Rams.
29. Oakland Raiders.
30. Carolina Panthers.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

New England is ranked #1 at ESPN, but I just can't give a team with a mediocre defense and ranked 26th in rushing that high of a ranking.

My system gives the Lions no respect .. likely because it doesn't consider injuries and those returning after recovering from injury.

My predictions for this week's games:

Arizona Cardinals by 6.70 (won game, won spread)
Atlanta Falcons by 0.80 (won game, won spread)
Cleveland Browns by 2.70 (lost game, lost spread)
Denver Broncos by 11.30 (lost game, lost spread)
Green Bay Packers by 3.70 (won game, won spread)
Indianapolis Colts by 0.20 (lost game, lost spread)
Kansas City Chiefs by 2.70 (won game, won spread)
Miami Dolphins by 6.70 (won game, won spread)
Minnesota Vikings by 0.30 (lost game, lost spread)
New Orleans Saints by 3.70 (lost game, lost spread)
Pittsburgh Steelers by 0.30 (won game, won spread)
San Diego Chargers by 6.70 (won game, won spread)
San Francisco 49ers by 4.30 (won game, won spread)
Washington Redskins by 5.70 (lost game, lost spread)

A little uneasy about my Arizona pick over Detroit. There's also a lot of close contests this week.

This week could win big .. or be a complete bust .. .. or even somewhere in between.
Results this week:

Games: 8-6.

Spread: 8-6.

A few surprises, none greater than Denver falling injured victim to .. the Rams?!

I've found that nothing's harder than to consistently predict NFL games and by how much.

Right or wrong, there they are. I could probably change half of them and still not have a clue which teams will rise and which ones won't.

My Power Rankings as of Tuesday, 11/18/2014:

1. Denver Broncos.
2. Miami Dolphins.
3. Kansas City Chiefs.
4. New England Patriots.
5. Dallas Cowboys.
6. San Francisco 49ers.
7. Arizona Cardinals.
8. Seattle Seahawks.

28. New York Giants.
29. Oakland Raiders.
30. Carolina Panthers.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If the Broncos fluke out again they could easily drop 5 ranking rungs on my ladder, and Thomas and Sanders are questionable for tough Miami .. but for now, Peyton's team is still at the top.

The Patriots moved up in my rankings, thanks to holding the number 2 scoring team to 20 points.

Despite Arizona's league-leading W-L record, their 20th-ranked offense isn't likely to get much better with Palmer out .. so 7th is the best I can do for 'em.

My predictions for this week's games:

Atlanta Falcons by 1.70
Baltimore Ravens by 1.30
Buffalo Bills by 9.70
Chicago Bears by 6.70
Dallas Cowboys by 9.30
Denver Broncos by 2.70
Green Bay Packers by 4.30
Houston Texans by 3.20
Indianapolis Colts by 10.20
Kansas City Chiefs by 10.80
New England Patriots by 6.20
Philadelphia Eagles by 5.20
San Diego Chargers by 5.20
San Francisco 49ers by 12.20
Seattle Seahawks by 1.20

Going with the Ravens in New Orleans and the Chargers despite what the Ram D did to Manning. Hey, gotta take a risk!

i only did the top 10.....this is my current power rankings
but we have seen that any given Sunday, any team can compete
i cant believe the four best teams in the league reside in the AFC, which your rankings show

Just for reference sake, and not to discount your view, but the two hottest teams in the NFL currently are New England and Kansas City with Green Bay a close third, so if you were just listing them based on current form and not reputation at least the top two teams would be from the AFC. In addition, AFC teams have been beating NFC teams fairly regularly this year - last week AFC was 2 for 2.

There's a certain level of snobbery and nostalgia attached to this NFC superiority fallacy. There's no division in the NFC like the AFC North, with each team well above .500. Any one of the AFC North teams would be leading or giving the division a good run if they were in any of the NFC divisions and you don't have a single one of them in your top ten.

Probably a bunch of teams in the 8-15 range that are really close tbh

I think the afc north is good...no question

But the NFC west isn't a slouch

Even the worst of the four, St. Louis is winning big games.....ask Peyton manning

That's true, but they mostly haven't played each other yet. Once they start beating each other up as the AFC North has already, let's see if they're still all vying for playoff spots.
