Breaking News: Lebron James has Returned home to Cleveland.....says Ohio is bigger than basketball.

Four years after he bolted from Cleveland to Miami in pursuit of the N.B.A. championships that had eluded him, LeBron James is returning home.

At age 29 and with two N.B.A. titles now in his possession, James decided Friday to rejoin the Cavaliers, for whom he played in the first seven seasons of his storied professional career. Vilified in Cleveland when he decided to leave for the Heat, James is likely to find that all is forgiven, and more, as he embarks on an effort to bring a championship to a city that has not celebrated one in any major sport in 50 years.

James, who grew up in nearby Akron, Ohio, and is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of his generation, made the announcement through Sports Illustrated’s website, saying: “My relationship with northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.”.....snip~

Lebron is Lebron's biggest fan. I guess two rings is enough for him.

Career over.

Heya Crue. :2wave: At 29? You think so?

LeBron James will sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he announced in a column on SportsIllustrated.com. "My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now," he wrote. His column ends: "In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have.

"I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home."

Through some risky trades, Cavaliers cleared enough cap space to offer James a maximum contract starting at around $20.7 million per season. The financial terms of the contract have no been announced, but logic suggests he got the max.

The Cavaliers will build around LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and Andrew Wiggins.

LeBron going back to Cleveland... the butthurt when he left was palpable. So who's the bigger moron here? Cleveland for taking him back or LeBron for going back?

The Cavaliers will build around LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and ..........

Kevin Love.

At least, that is the plan currently I do believe.

The method in which he went back, and the letter he wrote, is classy and mature.

Doesn't erase what he did 4 years ago and the way he's acted regarding it, but it does add things to it.

I will say that if he wins rings in Cleveland I'll view those similar to how I view Kobie's rings post Shaq, with a greater respect than the earlier ones.

Prepare to be horribly sick of hearing the chorus to Diddy's "I'm Coming Home" over the next year.

As was Heat owner Mickey Arrison's response on Twitter.

They showed a graphic on ESPN about the Cav's starting lineup and it made me think...how many teams have had four #1 draft picks on the team at the same time (Irving, Wiggins, James, Bennett)? Now, it's very possible they won't all stay there, but it is interesting.

I wonder why anyone whould want to live in Cleveland vs on the water in Miami?
As far as going back career wise, hmmm leave a 4 straight finals team?
Unless he knows Bosch or Wade will be retiring in the offseason for sure.

First Johnny Football--now King James--added to 2016 preparations for the GOP convention--what a huge shot in the arm for Cleveland specifically and the radius around it--and all I want is tickets to the 2016 division one NCAA wrestling tournament in Cleveland--with PA and OH still the top two states for HS wrestling .

Cleveland is home. Miami is just a good vacation spot. Miami was not going to win the title next season with the personnel they had. Too many aging players owed too much money.

Being a Heat fan though I wanted him to stay. Oh well. The NBA is a business for players as well as management. Many fans lose sight of that. Think Miami would hang onto him when his productivity is reduced 25% due to age or injury and he's owed a lot of money? He just gave them the business before they gave it to him. I can't fault him for leaving.

On the other hand, how many fans who hated him when he left Cleveland now love him again?

There were a lot of Cavalier fans that were really upset with LeBron when he decided to leave the team. Lots of folks not thrilled with his return.

Great news for a struggling franchise and city. This elevates him a it in my estimation. Class move.

The Cavs are now the Vegas favorites to win the championship.

I just spoke with a tele-banking associate up in Cleveland. I mentioned that they received some good news today. She knew exactly what I meant, sounded super excited. We chatted Lebron for about 15 minutes while the transactions were taking place.

Meh...he left, now he's coming home. All is forgiven.

That's nice...that he is going home (he is from Akron).

I wonder how the Cav fans will receive him?

My guess is any boos will be drowned out after about 5 minutes of the first game.

Rumor has it that Wiggins is a prerequisite in a swap for Kevin Love. It seems like a likely trade now that Lebron is officially back.

Wiggins (and a couple pieces) for Love would be more than worth it.

No way Cleveland gives up Wiggins for Love. Love holds all the leverage, and only has a yr before unrestricted free agent. Watched some film of Wiggins at Nike camps his senior yr. He's a freak, freak athlete, and he and James at the 2 and 3 will be unbelievable. I think I read Cleveland has something like three 1st round picks next yr. They have a lot of assets that they can deal with Minnesota without giving them a future superstar.
