Here is a look back at some of the most notable sports moments of 2013.....this vid doesn't include all sports. So feel free to share any notable moments for 2013 that you know of, for any sports. Winners or loses.....or what made the most popular and all seeing eye. Lets get some pics in here and have some fun with it. ;)

sad and to the year with F1 legend Michael Schumacher in a coma.

On a more positive note the biggest sporting moment of 2013 for me was obviously Andy Murray breaking the decades long curse to finally become the first British tennis player in gernation to win Wimbledon.

Mornin' Higgins. Yeah, I heard about on the radio this morning coming in from work. Heard they did some surgery too. Still in a coma.

Hard to believe it all came about with an accident skiing.

Sadly the only sport I really care about ended badly over the last two evenings. :(

2013 Chicago Bliss- A New Champion Is Crowned

The 2013 Legends Cup featured the Bliss against the Eastern Conference champ Philadelphia Passion. Hac and the Bliss players watched the Passion beat the Atlanta Steam from the end zone prior to the Bliss win over Seattle. They were not just passing time. They were taking notes and making plans.

The story for this season was preparation meeting opportunity. There was nothing lucky about this. Coach Hac set the tone. The entire team from Hac down was prepared. Hac was right. If not for a couple dropped passes, the Bliss could have had a perfect record. Even with that one early loss, most everyone involved with the Bliss would say this was a perfect season!.....snip~

So who was UK's Soccer Champ this year? Any thing golden with any Brits? :2ukflag:

Manchester United ( evil empire) were crowned the English champions for a record 20th time.
Bayern Munich won the European cup.
The British lions crushed the aussies in rugby.
But most importantly the World cup draw took place in december. Bring on World Cup 2014.

Here’s a Sonny Side of Sports salute to basketball star LeBron James and tennis champion Serena Williams, who are the Associated Press’s 2013 male and female athletes of the year.

Serena had what Gordon Smith, the executive director of the U.S. Tennis Association, describes as an unforgettable year. She had a record in singles of 78-4, with 11 titles – including the French Open and the U.S. Open.

The 32-year-old Williams also had a 34-match winning streak; won more than $12 million dollars in prize money, a record in women’s tennis; and became the oldest world number-one in women’s tennis history. Serena’s 17 Grand Slam singles trophies also matches the number won by Swiss star Roger Federer who, like Williams, is 32-years-old.

LeBron James is also at the top of his sport. He celebrated his 29th birthday December 30th and is widely regarded as the best player in the National Basketball Association.

In June, LeBron led the Miami Heat to their second consecutive NBA title.

James was named Most Valuable Player of the championship series, and he also won his fourth league MVP trophy in 2013.....snip~

As a Green Bay Packer fan, the ending of that game vs the Bears is one of my favorite sports moments from 2013!
