Before you even attempt to argue purchase a thousand baseball caps with a logo looking like Al Jolson in blackface and see how many you sell!!!!! Call it a "Sambo" hat. Go ahead, try.

The fact that people consistently use the term "racist" to describe stupid things that aren't racist at all just goes to show that the term racism and racist mean nothing anymore. They're just words that have been devalued of all true meaning and this results by over-use of people who want to get some benefit out of milking this term for personal gain... and also it's indicative that real racism doesn't exist anymore in the USA. It's dead. So in order to keep the myth alive, minuscule, pathetic things are labelled as racist.
 
You can argue that their logo is inaccurate. Their logo should be an actual Indian, like from India, and not a Native American, who obviously aren't Inians, but racist it is not. Maybe re-name the team the "Cleveland Customer Service Call Takers" and change their logo to a guy with a phone to his ear and playing Cricket?

Truthfully, I just started this thread for lack of something to do!! "Characters" can be construed as inflammatory but look at kids products including and especially food products with all the silly characters telling parents "This #@$% is good for your kids"! When you think of the cereal "Lucky Charms" do you instantly think of health food or a version of LSD? Another example of characters is drug products. Prilosec has Larry The Cable Guy giving medical advice! Would you let your child sleep over at a house where Ronald McDonald was the sitter?!

I absolutely am a liberal. I'm just not a libtard, which is what 99% of modern day liberals are.

In fact, I might even be considered an extreme liberal by some. I believe that abortions or giving up baby for adoption should be MANDATORY in certain circumstances, like when the mother and/or father can't afford the kid.

1. Racists and other bigots tend to lack awareness of their prejudices and think that they are based in reality.

2. Many outsiders are incapable of understanding why a statement, symbol or action is offensive to a certain group. That may be understandable, but out of common courtesy and respect we should be considerate of the group's complaints and accommodate them unless they are completely outrageous or impractical (which is rarely the case).

FYI-The story about Sambo is about an Indian (from India). They don't have tigers in Africa.

I had this discussion with some inlaws a couple weeks ago when the 'Redskins" name came up. Then, 3 out of 3 Natives agreed that the named Redskins and the Indians logo suck and shouldn't be allowed in this day and age.
Like I said, it ain't your call whether or not it's offensive unless you're Native.

It seems you're confused between the term Liberal and Authoritarian. There's a reason why the position is called Pro-Choice, not Pro-Choice-unless your below the poverty level, then we'll take your kid.
