I see nothing wrong with a coach encouraging the referees to grow a pair and call penalties against a home team mugging the opposition even if it is in overtime.

Seabrook going to be missing at least a game, maybe more, for a really nasty hit to the head. It is exactly the kind of play the NHL wants to get out of hockey, so I tend to think he might miss 2 or 3 games for it.

What a series! Hard checking and competitive as hell. I wouldn't be surprised if every game went to OT.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Seabrook misses at least 2 games. That was a bad hit; you just can't do that anymore.

Yeah, the Seabrook hit was bad. That cost them the game. The team just doesn't have the legs late in games this year. There were plenty of stupid penalties too. Bickell and Versteeg both had stupid penalties.

I wonder how long Backes will be out. He was definitely concussed. That may play into how many games Seabrook misses. I am hoping only one or two, but it may be more. He didn't have the puck.
 
So Happy. Penguins lost. Chicago has lost 2. Detroit has won one.

Just NEED the Flyers to win today, and this weekend will be pretty dang decent.

Stupidest and most ill-timed penalty I've seen in years. And it cost them the season, IMO.

It very well may have. Brookbank is no Seabrook. They have been down before and not given up. Let's hope they can turn it around.

Tough to get over two come-from-ahead o/t losses like this. Crawford is probably shaken by it, as is the rest of the team. Yesterday's loss was devastating.

I heard that the league told him if he grabs his crotch again they are going to make him coach the Cubs.

Congratulations to the Blue Jackets on a great double overtime win. Poor Fleury let that one slide past him.

Losing game 2 in Pittsburgh is really going to put them at a disadvantage.

Coach didn't have the best of days yesterday. His 3 year old on the Kentucky Derby trail lost the Illinois Derby by a nose too.

They've been here before. Remember they almost got eliminated by the Wings last year, and had to beat both the refs AND the Scum to do it in the final minutes?

Rangers - Lundquist makes the difference. Should be the most entertaining series and could go either way.

Colorado - Probably the most lopsided first round series. Biggest question is will it go to 5 games

Blues - This is more hunch than anything else, and guessing that StL will be getting some players back. Healthy they are the better team, but they are not healthy.

Ducks - Will be closer than expected, but Dallas is not good enough

San Jose - I suspect I will be watching this series as it should be fun. San Jose takes it in 7

Amazing we watched the same game, yet I had no difficulty determining that Tampa was completely outplayed. In fact 44-25 shots on goal. In fact, the Tampa coach has gone on record saying (I paraphrase) 'his team completely sucked.' Not sure if you a) don't quite understand the game of hockey b) was heavily under the influence of streaming tears because the Leafs folded like a cheap suit once again or c) your hatred of the Habs prevents you from making sound judgments on their play. The jury is still out.

That is funny. Carey Price gives up 4 goals on 16 shots and my observation was that if the Tampa goalie wasn't such a sieve, Tampa could have won the game by a couple instead of it going into overtime. If you think there's something wrong with that statement, you're simply looking for a fight over nothing and incredibly butt hurt because the Leafs slaughter the Sens anytime they meet in the playoffs.

But let's be clear:

1. I despise the Habs - they and their fans are as arrogant and self-important as most liberals.

2. When my team is out of the playoffs, I don't adopt another team like some fair weather Ottawa fans who suddenly become life-long Habs fans.

3. I know plenty about hockey, but observations of the game are unique to the person watching and what you see and what I see can be very different.
