I watched the video that accompanies this article. Looks like this Torres character is out to kill somebody. Seems he keeps targeting the heads of his opponents. I wonder how much of this exact kind of checking it going on out there. If not then maybe he needs to not be playing anymore.

Players on the ice are always vulnerable to injuries in this fast paced body jolting game. But now to have a deliberate head hunter out there is insane. If he wanted to drop his gloves and have a go at somebody that would be ok because the other guy would be prepared. But if you have already shot the puck you aren't expecting someone to come flying at your head.

He should have been given a lifetime ban. The refs should be reprimanded too for complete failure. The one linesman is standing right there watching it and even reacts to the impact of the hit by shrugging his shoulder and then skates on as nothing happened?

See that is what upsets me is the refs didn't call it.

The linesmen can't call penalties.
 
I hope the Hawks can win one at home.

But if you look at it objectively it was timed just perfectly.

Here's hoping! McLean sat down his big guns last night for most of the 3rd period. They were not performing and the coach took action. It could either make or break them. Let's hope it's the former.
