Wow. Has to be the longest 9 plus minutes of their lives. It felt longer to me just watching it.

Some of those wildfires have been within twenty miles of where I sit. We were covered in smoke a couple days week before last.


We finally got some rain this week, hope it helps.

I've been thinking about you and yours when they talk about the fires on local news and show where they are on a map. I can get Channel 7 over the air up here, even though we're in the Charlotte TV area.

Remember that I'm not that far from you, and we've had the same smoke. Looked like thick fog from inside the house and burned our eyes and throat when we went out.

We had a small tornado last night. No damage except to the top of some trees. Charlotte had one that overturned a tractor trailer in front of my oldest son in south Charlotte. I called him before that all happened to let him know there was a tornado warning near where he was going, so of course that made him go there directly without delay to see if I was right. *smh*

But I sure loved the rain that came with it - around two months without drop before that. We need a heck of a lot more though.

Yup, we got that same Tornado warning. Got wild and wooly at one point too, almost ducked for shelter.


Lotta rain, but we need a lot.

We need a downpour of unprecedented proportions apparently. I'm praying for Gatlinburg, my home.

Thank you all so much. It means so much. :) I just hope I can help my community as much as our brave fire fighters, rescue crew, police and military have thus far.

They're reporting that those fires were started by people: don't know how yet.

But that's baaad.

Too many lit cig butts thrown out the car window. Cars don't have ashtrays these days and people don't want to make their car smell like smoke.

Even their dog knew things were pretty precarious. Way too many things could have gone wrong on that drive.

OK, so we helped the Guards and Firefighters get water to the refugees today. Me and my bud Jerry are getting up there at around 12 to help again. New fire at Cobbly Nob. The worst is over but we're not out of the woods yet. We still got work to do.
