Kentucky elects its second GOP governor in 4 decades

so in your mind-all that matters-in a state you don't live in is gay marriage

ok we get that.

Since when do posters question another about not living in KY when you don't live there either.

And spare us all the Cincinnati connection .

actually there are far more gun owners than people who think gay marriage is all that matters. and in the grand scheme of things-how a politician feels about gay marriage rates really low on my chart and probably most peoples' charts. and like it or not-people can oppose gay marriage without being "prejudiced assholes" as you call them.

it's merely a litmus test for me, as are many things, because i believe a governor or president should be "the best among us". If none on the ballot make the grade, i do write-in. That is what i mean by an entire state should be able to do better

if you can't manage to behave civilly and with respect to ALL citizens and uphold their rights, and not to mention the oath you would take, you don't belong in public office. I've no reason to look beyond that when again, we should expect better

No, what you claim at the end is not possible, any more than opposing interracial marriage does not make one a prejudiced asshole

KY have been mostly electing DEMOCRAT governors-all but 2 in the last 4 decades. So what sort of psychobabble are you spewing.

that's simple to explain and undoes your whole 'obama connection' theory - the democrat governors the past 4 decades were all gay hating bigots too, until now

sour grapes still? Conway wasn't exactly a dynamite candidate. and his arguments against Bevin were nothing more than one rich establishment politician bashing a rich businessman. pretty lame

Still nothing about the content of my posts.

Just diversions away from GOP dark money Trickie Duckie dirty tricks done not so dirt cheap .

So you've moved on to "psychobabble" insults rather than defend the indefensible.

Which party was in charge of the KY legislature that instituted term limits on governors and put gubernatorial elections on odd years before the Presidential ?

I haven't seen any proof for your meltdown over a DEM losing in KY

his point is that you have none, unless it's to gloat over the kentucky inbreeders electing a world class bigot as their governor

Maybe that is why a Republican won. Maybe they are tired of people telling them what they should think and then calling them inbreeders. Pretty awful sales pitch.

Looks like Matt Bevin- a wealthy GOP businessman and "Outsider" has beaten Dem Party man Jack Conway (two time KY AG)

this was seen as a toss up election and Conway was leading in most of the polls by 3-6%

Dems attacked Bevin as being a wealthy investor while Conway was saddled with being called an Obama clone: an argument that had little merit other than him being a Democrat

Bevin publicly supported that rogue clerk (gay marriage issue) and said he'd end the Obamacare exchange in KY

apparently the ties to Obama were lethal to Conway

Maybe this is a foreshadowing of the way the elections could go. This will scare the left. I bet they go nuts calling him a bigot.

the big attack on Bevin was claims he was made money as a "wall street investor" or a "hedge fund trader" combined with claims he didn't pay taxes in a timely fashion

the big attack on Conway was trying to claim he was an Obama clown including he was in favor of Obama care (somewhat) gun bans (not particularly accurate) and other Obama programs

both sides were rather pathetic in being truthful or actually framing the issues in the advertisements

the main shock was they lost the auditor's race and Conway-who was ahead in most polls-albeit not much-got drilled meaning they don't have any contenders to take on Rand Paul

Alison Grimes got the SoS again but her crushing destruction by turtle man (no relation) McConnell took her out of the equation and Beshear's son who won AG is really young and beat a guy whose record as an attorney was pretty pathetic from what I saw

Ahhh, ignorance is bliss.

Exactly what "dark money" was spent on Bevin?? Far more outside groups aired pro-Conway ads with lies about Bevin than any outside group for Bevin.

Which party was in charge of the KY legislature that instituted term limits on governors and put gubernatorial elections on odd years before the Presidential ?

First: Kentucky has conducted off year governor elections for at least 100 years.

Second: Democrats have controlled the House of Representatives for many, many years.

Third: Democrats have been elected governors for most of the last 50 years.

So you tell me... which party was in charge ??

Such a shame.. Bevin is the last thing Kentucky needs. The fact he supports Kim Davis is disturbing to say the least. Also, ending the exchange? God..

Typical republican idiocy. It's a great example of why republicans are unfit for office.
