Since the Senate couldn't clear a procedural vote, they could not defund Planned Parenthood this session with the Fed. Now Republican Governors are taking their own actions. Jindal's response was immediate he cuts off state funding. Other Governor's like Chris Christie of NJ are taking it to Hillary Clinton, over her statements and backing of PP. Note Christie defunded PP 6 years ago.

Btw, Rand Paul says he will now attached a rider to a bill that the Demos want passed, in order to get the Federal funding to stop. What say ye?




Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal cut state Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood on Monday because recent videos of employees appearing to discuss the sale of fetuses from abortions "does not represent the values of the people of Louisiana."

The Republican presidential candidate said he and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals gave Planned Parenthood 30 days notice that the state is withdrawing what amounts to about 75 percent of the organizations' funding, The Hill reported.....snip~

No one is selling fetal body parts or tissue on the open market. It's being given to medical researchers and the costs of transporting and storing the tissue is being reimbursed.

The dishonesty on your side of the isle on this issue wreaks.

Oh, PP is definitely selling them. The question is whether they're being sold at a profit or not, and it seems PP already answered that question themselves. PP is just busy decrying the method by which that was exposed and claiming they didn't say what they said.... Er, they didn't mean what they said. It was taken out of context. Those people don't speak for us....It's the usual deflection and diversion.

For a good while now. We'll never get the left to admit to anything in this regard. The whole idea was for this to fly under the radar from the start, but at some point someone would have had to ask where, exactly, businesses like Stem Express were getting their baby parts. The president of CMP has said that the fourth video was suppressed by Stem Express because it contains evidence of them acquiring and selling intact fetuses. Is that true? I don't know, but I'm inclined to believe it in light of the other things they've revealed.

Planned Parenthood is already prevented from using federal funds to perform abortions, except under extreme circumstances.

The only thing that defunding Planned Parenthood will accomplish is a reduction of access to birth control. Guess what happens when you reduce access to birth control?

You got it. More Abortions.

The only other thing that this whole effort to defund Planned Parenthood might accomplish? A Government shutdown that will cost the US Taxpayers several more billion dollars, just like the last shutdown.

What was said in the Senate yesterday? That there are only 700 PPs across the nation and over 9k Community medical centers. Plus now free services with BO's special package.



After a congressional recess in August, conservative Republicans could try to attach their defunding measure to a bill to fund the government, raising the prospect of a possible government shutdown over the issue.

Two Democrats, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Joe Donnelly of Indiana, broke ranks and supported the defunding effort. "I do not believe that taxpayer money should be used to fund this organization; instead those funds should be sent to other healthcare providers," Manchin in a statement.

The legislation's main sponsor was freshman Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa. "The question before us today is clear: Who do we want to be as a nation? It is hard for anyone to defend these morally reprehensible videos, as Planned Parenthood callously harvested the organs of unborn babies, to be sold at a price," Ernst said.

It bugs the hell out of me that the bolded is never acknowledged by the left. The one service that PP almost exclusively provides that the left desperately wants to protect is abortion on demand. Nobody has said they must stop offering that service. We're just not going to pay for it with federal funds. That means that those who believe this service is vital should contribute privately.
