What keeps you with the same person day after day, month after month, year after year?
It doesn't have to be your significant other. How about a friendship that has sustained trial and time?

Current Mood: | Re: What Keeps Us Together Very early in our relationship, when we were still mostly just *friends*, my husband and I went and got each other's names tattooed in large Olde English letters on our backs.
"Are you married?" asked the guy at the tattoo shop, clearly concerned.
"I am," I replied truthfully. "He's not."
I love that anecdote.
I stay with him because he's sweet. He's so sweet.
He smells so good to me; he's got this yeasty (not in a bad way) wholesome smell like fresh-baked bread. Like a baby, or a baby animal. I noticed this the first time I ever met him, and I hoped it would never change, and it never has.

Current Mood: | Re: What Keeps Us Together I've loved Gary for 25 years. What drew me to him was his strength. His strength of character, integrity, morals, even his face has strength (the manly, chiseled features).....the biceps are awful pretty too
I think what has kept us together is love, respect, trust and friendship. Every night when he comes home from work, Gary seeks me out for a kiss. I bring him coffee in bed on the weekend. We laugh a lot together. I think humor is a part of the glue.
I guess it's a hundred little things that say "you're important to me" that keep us together. |

Even though you were tongue in cheek on your post, I expect that what you said is true. Some people will be with the wrong person forever, because they believe that being alone is worse. |
