Along with hundreds of others I watched a set during which Johnny Vegas, without any discernible artistic or comedic merit, gratuitously groped a young woman on stage. Judging from some of the furious postings on the internet that followed the gig, I was not the only person asking if he had crossed a line.
| I love stand up (I'd rather listen to a comedian, than music) and love offensive acts, but this guy seems to be crossing the line to me. Read the article and tell me: Did he cross the line?
On another note, like I said before, I love stand up and listen to a lot of it, but I have never heard of this guy before. Any DP Brits have anything to say about him or his act? I can't find much on him on youtube.

| Re: Since when is sexual assault funny? Sounds horrific, however there are questions about whether the reporting is accurate or not - if the young lady was sexually molested on stage she hasn't made a complaint to the police and neither have the journalists who've written about the incident.
That's all it would take to take this from a possible to a probable. |

| Re: Since when is sexual assault funny? South Park and Family guy are voiced by people being sexually assaulted in the voice studio?
Johnny Vegas was on stage and is often drunk - as the commentator says in his blog, he can be a car-crash waiting to happen but as I said in my previous post, neither the "victim" or the journalists have called the police so it's still a storm in a teacup. |

There's no "assault" because she sat there (laid there?) and ALLOWED him to touch her without so much a verbal protest.
Why to people immediately jump to the conclusion that women are so pathetically weak that they can't even say "stop"?

Some people say "gropee". I say "groupie".
I didn't read "held at gunpoint" or "knife at her throat" anywhere, so you can easily assume that it was not unwanted.

Sick.
I mean--it's not like there was an entire audience of people full of expectation and six guys who carried her on stage and a drunk idiot straddling her and swearing at her and threatening to "kick her in the ribs" if she moved while he groped her publicly....yeah...it definitely she's the weak one who didn't have the guts to speak up, or she liked it.
You are out of your ever lovin' mind rivrrat.
