You want to school RivrRat on what rape is all about, rather than listen to the voice of experience, just like you want to school me on what abortion's all about, even though you've never had one and obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about.
It's funny, because you're really not qualified to speak about anything except going to church and raising kids, and possibly teaching English at a middle school.
Yet you certainly have plenty to say about everything, especially about how people who actually know about things from experience are wrong, while you, who learned about it in church or read it in some magazine, are right.

I'd put the opinion of an actual rape survivor far above that of someone who learned about it in church, and now runs around trying to discredit and discount the opinions of rape survivors.

Well, I guess every single person on the entire forum is a victim of "statutory rape", in that case, since we all took a vote and every single person here lost their virginity before the age of 18. I guess in cases where the other person was a teenager too, they were statutorily raping each other.
How dare you even compare consensual loss of your virginity before the age of eighteen to rape? Do you know how few people actually reach the age of eighteen without having had sex? That's not any kind of rape. It's consensual. Rape by definition is sex without consent.
All labels like 'statutory rape' do is seek to diminish the seriousness of the actual crime of rape.

I don't think any ONE rape victim has the monopoly on all thoughts and feelings when it comes to rape, and the afterthoughts. Many survivors may have riv's(?) take, and many may have felicity's take.

For the record I do think a woman should resist or fight back when it's in their power. I also know some women freeze up in such situations. Women are not taught like men how to fight, so it's imperative women seek out that knowledge on their own..ie self defense...but many do not.

I guess underage drinking is "statutory murder", then.
I'm gonna go a forum for parents whose kids have been murdered, and tell them I can empathize because I was "statutorily murdered", and so was every single person I've ever met.
Then I'll explain to them all about how their feelings are invalid, and I'll school them on what murder's really all about. After all, I'm the expert. Statutory murder victim, right here.
