So good for you. You accomplished something (supposedly) that the vast majority of the population cannot do and most have probably wished they could at some point in their life. | Yea, I was fortunate to be able to deal with my OCD and sexuality problems fairly early in life. I still kind of feel uncomfortable getting close to guys friendship wise, but I'm not sexually attracted to men anymore.(not sure if my attraction was more OCD or whatever, but I do know i was attracted to men and now I'm not) But yea I really feel for people who have sexual attractions they don't want, its very frustrating and demeaning to your sense of self. |

Why would it be demeaning to be attracted to someone?
It can be frustrating and sad when they don't return the attraction, and that's when you really wish you weren't attracted to them. But, there's just not turning it "off". There is only diverting your attention elsewhere. Heartbreak is a painful thing, but I don't think there's any "medication" or "treatment" for it. You can't just turn your feelings off.
Somehow I doubt that medication could make me NOT attracted to my BF anymore. Or could have made me attracted to other people that I DONT find attractive at all. Unless it's a hallucinogen or something. Or I was brainwashed.
I don't think there's any amount of medication in the world that could make me NOT find Angelina Jolie or Colin Farrel attractive.
Likewise, I don't think there's any medication in the world that could make me find say... George Bush attractive. Or, Roseanne Barr.

| Has the matter re-opened? I believe there are a multitude of my points you and the genetic homosexuality crowd (Mach, Kali, Quat, Rathi) has left unadressed. I simply assumed it was due to your collective inability to rebutt my arguments; perhaps I am mistaken...perhaps. |

The fact that no one I know of except this one anonymous individual on a forum has ever chosen who they are attracted to?
Do you CHOOSE who you are attracted to? Could I point to any person on the face of the earth and you would be able to CHOOSE to be attracted to them? Is that seriously what you're suggesting?
If you have a life partner at the moment, could you just choose NOT to be attracted to them any longer? Did you choose to BE attracted to them? If so, why on earth did you do so? |

| I assumed it was a contextual continuation of the previous debate over genetic homosexuality, if, however, you're specifically limiting your contention to preferences within interrelationships I will not contest it.
As for unadressed points simply scroll back through the last three pages or so and you'll find numerous posts of mine went unadressed. |

I consider the choice (or lack thereof) to be attracted to a specific individual as laughable as the choice (or lack thereof) to be attracted to a specific gender. How can you separate the two? Do people choose to prefer redheads? Or blondes? Tall men? Or short women? Anorexic thin? Or voluptuous? People don't CHOOSE these preferences or attractions any more than they choose which gender they find attractive. So, it's hardly limited. |

| Simple question. Are you contuing the previous debate or not? I answered your initial question and you've yet to rebutt it. I'm not going to resume the debate on new terms and within a different context simply because you find my answer to difficult too adress. |
