Possible, but they're generally the "Incredibly awkward social disaster" types.

Umm.. I disagree. I can be and AM confident and professional in my DnD t-shirt as much as I am in anything else. Actually, probably moreso in my T-shirts since they're more comfortable and more "me". And yet, I do not care care how I look to "the rest of society". Why should I?

Quite a few times by weaker men who feel intimidated. And women, for that matter. I used to have a sig on the forums that said "I'm not A bitch, I'm THE bitch"

Re: Smart women

Oh.. and to answer your question... smart, confident women are frequently considered "bitches" or even "ice queens", etc. I've never been called an ice queen, but the bitch title I wear proudly.

I've not dumbed myself down really around men, however I have and still do occasionally request help when I don't necessarily need it. Or, allow a man to explain something to me that I *may* already know. The latter I do when I recognize that said man is taking great pride in his knowledge, etc. I see no reason to deliberately belittle him by saying "Yeah, I already knew that." I simply engage him further and perhaps learn a little more about what it is he is talking about.

The former I do occasionally with my BF (sorry honey if you're reading!), and have with others too. Not to dumb myself down.. my BF likes me smart. Not to make myself appear "helpless", I think my BF values my independence and "sugar-momishness" LOL. I do it occasionally because I understand that sometimes you just need to feel needed. And I recognize that men in particular require that.

I think that's oversimplified. Confident women are considered powerful. Cocky women are considered bitches. They have no distinction with men in that aspect, as most confident men are viewed as assertive and strong while cocky men like myself are considered jackasses.

Women often confuse assertiveness and aggressiveness. Far too many of them, for a plethora of reasons, will get defensive over trivial stuff and begin to lash out. They have no idea to be considerate while standing ground and just begin being "bitchy".

And this is all the time, not just during a few choice days of the month.

Hmm.. maybe from your perspective. But, I'm not cocky. I am, however, confident in certain areas. (not all) Additionally, I am not what I would consider aggressive. I'm about as laid back as they come.

I am called a bitch when I refuse to take the sh!t the jackasses want to dish out to me.

Re: Smart women

Yeah. You may just hang with the wrong crowd, I suppose.

Usually the times a woman gets on my nerves is when she gets all matter-in-fact on me. It's doubly bad when she's wrong.

Of course, good luck telling her that. Fighting with a woman is stupid because even if you win, you lose.
