Current Mood: | Re: Big girls you are beautiful I don't feel that attractiveness has all that much to do with body size, I think it has more to do with physical health.
If a person is morbidly obese, obviously they are not healthy, and it shows, in more ways than just their body size.
If a person is moderately overweight but is still healthy- and most overweight young people are still fundamentally healthy; the extra weight usually doesn't really begin to tax one's health until the late 30s or early 40s- I don't see any reason why they couldn't be attractive.
That said, I think our society is kind of mean about thin women, who can also be healthy and attractive.
My general preference, sexually, is for thinner people (both male and female), but I am aware that a lot of males- possibly most of them- prefer women with curvy or voluptuous body types.
On the other hand, I don't let someone's weight stop me, if I'm attracted to them.
I just don't think it's as big an issue as people want to make it.

However i do think because of magazines celebrity culture many womens obssesion that they are fat, its as though men want really skinny women, which, im just talking for myself isnt true i like women in there natural state by which i mean some women are bigger than others, i dont like obese women as its obvously unhealthy and in some ways have an addiction brought on from other issues. |

I know you don't have any intent to be mean here, but that's the kind of thing I'm talking about.
I wish it were possible to promote self esteem and body acceptance among heavier women, without having to insult non-heavy women, in order to do so. I'm not saying you are doing this, but the media does it, a lot of women's magazines do, even feminist organizations do it, to some extent.
If you look at, for example, the comments under my profile picture, one person commented (and these are virtual strangers, not known enemies of mine just being nasty) by asking if I was male or female, while another commented that "it" (meaning me) looked "a little anorexic".
And I'm not even that thin. I'm 5 feet tall, 100 pounds. I have some body fat. I'm not what anyone would call chunky, but if I were an average height (say, 5'5"), I'd be an average weight (say, 120 pounds).
What I'm saying is, I'm healthy.
It does get tiresome, hearing the media attempt to boost the self-esteem of obese people by talking crap about thin ones, as if thin people don't have feelings, and their own set of insecurities to deal with. People act like it's perfectly fine to accuse thin women categorically of having eating disorders, of being sick, of looking like skanks or drug addicts or sexless androgynous freaks.
That said (I've got a rant for every occasion, don't I?), I don't think heavy people are inherently unattractive, either. And from a tactile perspective, as you mentioned, they do feel good. Squishy, like. And warm, and cuddly. |

Current Mood: | Re: Big girls you are beautiful O no i agree some women are naturally very slim and thats fine it suits them.I mean its not natural in anyway way for a woman to be obese and its seems the reason they are is often i kind of addiction.I also dont buy the idea women become anorexic from magazines etc though i do think it makes some women feel bad about themselves its much more complicated than that. |

I agree with you. I find woman who are a little curvier more sexy. The same with guys, although my husband is the thin, tall type. It the end though body type doesn't dictate my romantic decisions, unless as 1069 pointed out, it's so big it becomes a health issue. Or if they are just big because they are lazy do nothings. I like to have fun and be outdoors so that would be a factor in things. I feel good with my body. I am not too skinny but not really chunky either. I got a little booty that the guys sure like Quote: |

It's really ****ed up when all you hear about is all these girls who are too skinny and nasty, then when Britney Spears comes out looking pretty dang good, she gets blasted for being fat. You just can't win with those people. |

Gender: | Re: Big girls you are beautiful I don't find thin or "skinny" attractive in either men or women. Especially men. It's a HUGE turn off to me when it comes to men. With women, I can still find a woman attractive as long as she still looks healthy. But honestly, it's unlikely I will.
