This is not about the US senator so bear with me... Every weekday morning I drop the boys off at school and then on the way home go by the community park to do my 5 K walk... anyway... for the last couple weeks there is this teenage guy, maybe 17 or 18 that parks in the lot which is about 15 feet off the 1/2 K track... moments later this young girl maybe 14 or 15 meets him there in his car... He has his side windows slightly tinted but he parks with the windshield towards the track... Every lap there seems to be progress... girl and boy in each seat kissing, then one headrest has disapeared and no one in view and then one head showing in the drivers seat...

I'm like... we didn't do public sex when I was a kid... has everything changed or what? This morning he was parked one car away from me as I finished my laps... as I passed the parked cars I proceeded on another 50 meters to rest area to get a drink of water noticing one seat folded back and then when I returned to my car to see the boy in the drivers seat and the girls head bobbing up and down on his crotch... he glanced over towards me as if to say what?

By the time I left the track there were a lot of walkers and joggers that passed the parking area constantly and simply found this ability to ignore the world incredable... Am I just getting old or what? Is this normal?

Really? Were you a kid like before cars were invented?
Because I'm not very old, but I've seen a lot of old movies, and I've read a lot of old books, and sociological history is my field of interest, and it seems to me that people have always screwed in cars. And not with the cars parked in their closed garages, either- ergo, "in public".

In fact, during the "Roaring 20's", that notoriously libertine decade when ownership of enclosed (with a roof) automobiles first became widespread, they were denounced from pulpits across the land as rolling dens of inequity.
In fact, knowing human nature- and human history- as intimately as I do, I'll bet you dollars to dumplings that people were boinking in horse-drawn carriages even before the advent of the automobile.

Well we had sex in cars when I was a teen but it was normally at night... even at the drive-in theater most kids preferred to leave and go to lovers lane for a little more privacy... I had a 64 Galixy 500 with bench seats as large as a single bed and then I bought a new 67 Austin Healy 3000 dports coup that had a hood as nice as a full size bed... waxed up and polished regularlly with a wool blankie...

I think the thing here is that everyone is so very religious and it really isn't normal for a boy to date a girl without an adult present... well a guy can take a girl to the movie but mom or dad brings her home and often sits at the back of the theatre.

True, but I'd say that doing it in broad daylight in the middle of a rather public parking lot isn't the norm. Maybe not unheard of, but definitely not the norm.
