The Merck Corp, creators of Gardasil.... ermm, ahem, I mean, an independent and unbiased panel of accredited scientific researchers... has just announced that the hpv virus causes both mouth and throat cancer, and is transmissable via oral sex.
Nobody has yet explained why oral cancer and throat cancer is twice as common in men as in women.
Apparently, mandatory hpv vaccinations for all preadolescent and adolescent females in the country is not enough; it's obvious Merck is setting the stage for mandating vaccinations for all male children, as well.
At birth, probably, since this latest 'research" contains the disturbing revelation that this "mouth and throat cancer-producing virus" (which approximately 80% of the adult population of the US is already infected with, coincidentally) is not only transmissable via oral sex, but also via mouth-to-mouth contact, aka kissing.
I guess that pretty soon, instead of seeing the Midwest Dairy Association's ubiquitous slogan, "Got Milk?", on every billboard and subway station wall, we'll be seeing the Merck Corp's: "Got Gardasil?"
Although about three times more common than cervical cancer, which strikes about 10,000 Americans and kills about 3,000 Americans per year, oral pharyngeal cancer is still an extremely rare illness, affecting about 28,900 Americans per year, over two-thirds of them male.
On another note, check out this article in the LA Times.

He told me that males are the carriers and the ones who should be vaccinated. He said that if the males were vaccinated all their partners would be protected. When I asked him why the vaccine was for females, he said it was because of the testing. It was easier to track a female vaccinated against HPV then to vaccinate a male and track his partners....also if tracked female had sex with someone who wasn't vaccinated it would have thrown off their testing. |

Crazy, eh?

There is a slight connection between hpv and penile cancer, but penile cancer is so rare it's practically nonexistent (probably not much comfort to the handful of poor chumps who actually get it, but nevertheless). Hpv is unconnected to testicular cancer or any other cancer of the male reproductive organs. The burden of suffering is on females, which is why it made sense (up until yesterday, that is) to vaccinate female children.
This news, however, changes everything.
If oral and throat cancer are definitively connected to hpv, that changes everything.
Oral pharyngeal cancer is three times more common than cervical cancer, which has been getting all the media hoopla lately... and oral pharyngeal cancer effects three times as many males as females.
If this is true, then males are at far, far greater risk from HPV-16 and HPV-18 (the strains that can lead to cancer) than females are.
And it no longer makes sense to vaccinate only females.
Of course, people of both genders are and have always been at risk for contracting the strains that cause genital warts, but strains 16 and 18 do not cause visible warts, which are, in any event, considered a medically insignificant problem.
Did you read the LA Times article?
It turns out that Gardasil is perhaps not the magic bullet it's been hyped up to be, after all.
In test subjects, it has only provided a 44% reduction in dysplasia, the precursor to cancer.

So kissing is a "sin"?
Eating your wife's pvssy is a sin?
There is no indication, no suggestion whatsoever, that the men who contract oral pharyngeal cancer because of HPVs 16 and 18 in their throats are homosexual men.
Primarily, this cancer (like cervical cancer) afflicts poor people, black people, immigrants, and the immunocompromised: those suffering from HIV or Lupus, for instance, and organ-transplant recipients on anti-rejection drug regimens that compromise their immune systems.
In short, it afflicts primarily the malnourished and underserved and the chronically ill.
HPV-related cancers of all types have been connected, for instance, with a lack of folic acid in the diet, a problem which the poor disproportionately suffer from.
It seems that while nearly all Americans are infected with HPV, our natural immune systems are usually strong enough to clear it from our bodies- to put it into remission or cause it to become dormant- before it can begin to cause the cellular changes that eventually lead to cancer.
So, what's the message? What's the moral take-home lesson?
God Hates the Poor?
God Hates Transplant Recipients and People with Lupus?
God Hates Those Who don't Consume Enough B Complex Vitamins Because They Are too Expensive?
God Hates Immigrants From Countries Where the FDA doesn't Require that all Commercial Cereal Grains be Fortified with Folic Acid?
What? |

A healthy diet and regular exorcise is better at preventing this cancer than some vaccine. Quote:
