SEX TOURISM AND CHILD PROSTITUTION IN CUBA
Re: Hilton Hotels Worldwide Bans Cuban Guests

Arch Kielly, LtCol, USAF, Retired

Communist Cuba is attempting to right its economic problems by permitting the sexual trade of its children for badly needed monetary resources.

A generation of young people may have been invested to make Cuba’s tourism more appealing to foreign tourists looking for more than beautiful beaches and soft trade breezes.

Fidel Castro maintains his grip on the Cuban people as long as Cuba is able to produce funds to keep his regime afloat. Take away tourism dollars and Castro may self destruct and free a generation of Cuba’s children from sexual exploitation.

Tourism is Cuba’s most important moneymaker, generating almost $2 billion last year. In Spain alone, twenty flights leave for Havana every week, carrying to the Caribbean island a yearly total of some 200,000 single male tourists, all in search of cut-price sex. (Tunku Varadarajan, “Time-bomb that Flies in From Havana,” The Times, July 10, 1996. Lexis-Nexis document.)
The Cuban prostitute is very inexpensive. She is able to sell her body for a pair of shoes, or for one lipstick, or for a medicine for her child, etc, etc. The Revolution supposedly was done to eliminate that kind of profession, but instead, the number of prostitutes that Cuba has right now is 100 times higher that before 1959. The Revolution just brought to Cuba’s society more poverty, more deficits of food, clothing, increased the repression, the abuses, and finally, took and place very far away hope for all people to live with dignity and freedom.

I object to the characterization "sell her body".
Prostitutes do not "sell their bodies", per se; they sell a service, much like everybody else.
Whether the price they charge for this service is steep or affordable is beside the point.

Why about child prostitution? Do you object to it or “is beside the point” because "they sell a service" too?

Castro said in 1992 in a speech to the Cuban National Assembly: “There are no women forced to sell themselves to a man, to a foreigner, to a tourist. Those who do so do it on their own, voluntarily, and without any need for it. We can say that they are highly educated hookers and quite healthy, because we are the country with the lowest numbers of AIDS cases… Therefore, there is truly no prostitution healthier that Cuba’s…. “Cuban women become jineteras (prostitutes) because they like sex”. He remarked in 1993 that “thanks to socialism Cuban girls must make the cleanest and best-educated prostitutes in the world.”

The regime’s tourism minister has launched an international campaign announcing the splendor of the Cubans mulatas, using them as bait, distributing posters of white sand beaches, and Cuban women topless to travel agencies around the world. Sex, of course, is the primary reason that most tourists travel to Cuba. In its report of 2000-2001, the End Child Prostitution, Pornography and Trafficking (ECPAT, UK) reported the existence of child prostitution and traffic of minors in Cuba, and adds that in the country no measures have been taken on the matter.

There is sex tourism and child prostitution in every part of the world, including the U.S. It's bad everywhere.

But at least they have great health care. That's the best part. After you nail a Cuban whore, you can smack her around and let out your frustrations, and rest assured that she'll get quality treatment.

For a poor people with a food deficit I have never seen such healthy people as I have in Cuba.
I would advise against smacking a Cuban prostitute around.
If she doesnt knock you out her brother in the next room will:mrgreen:

I haven't nailed a chick whose brother was in the other room since high school. Don't they have motels by the hour in Havana?

No. And many Cuban males enjoy boxing so you would get your ass kicked, and it would be well deserved for an individual as yourself:lol:

If they were any good, they would have defected here by now.

Moot point anyway. You don't bring boxing gloves to a gunfight.

And the thing about prostitution is that it will always exist and it isn't a necessarily bad thing either. Whats bad is if the women is being forced with bad people who prevent her from stopping with the fear of physical force if not killing her. Or when children are used. Neither of those two things should happen but they do, the government needs to stop it but it isn't by making all of prostitution illegal. And really the government can't stop all pedos. Here in the US we rank number one for rapes, and have an extremely high statistic for the number of children who have been sexually molested by a family member. So really if you think Cuba is sad, then you are obviously not paying attention to what happens here.

You are a moot, because there are strict gun laws in Cuba.

We're speaking in hypotheticals, so let's just say that I have a fully automatic just sitting at my side at all times.

Besides, renting is just stupid. I'd rather just take her with me. Just like Comcast, when you have things "on demand" they're so much better.

They have them in the Dominican republic.
Their whores will kick your ass too.

The Cuban whore's brother will make you buy cheap cigars before you leave the room.... beware they will be substandard.
Dont let them change your money into cuban pesos either:mrgreen:

Hah wow. Worst source ever. An article allegedly written by some nobody posted by some anti-Castro gusano in an email that was put on a random website. I don't even know if it's possible to find a less reputable source, besides perhaps "because I said so".

Here's a better one for you:

Information on child sex tourism in Cuba is limited and while child prostitution is viewed as a problem, it does not appear to be on a large scale.

Please link to the speech or I'm just going to make the safe assumption that this is a complete fabrication, as you have done in the past.

BTW you really have a knack for lying and making claims without backing them up.

I have not heard of child prostitution being a problem in Cuba before

Costa Rica, Cambodia, parts of Thialand sure, anywhere with a strong western tourist trade and a weak or non controlling government.

Prostitutes in Cuba, I have heard of, of course they do hide it a bit, but it does exist

The ECPAT Network is a group of international organizations that works directly with UNICEF to end child prostitution and pornography. ECPAT’s study, “Child Prostitution and Sex Tourism: Cuba” says, "In Cuba, the link between tourism and prostitution is perhaps more direct than in any other country that hosts sex tourists."

Tourism has created thousands of jobs in the sex trade. A higher ratio of tourists goes to Cuba nowadays for prostitution, instead of the beaches and climate, than any other country in the world. The number of children that are being sexually exploited, particularly below the age of 14, has increased noticeable.

Once again, you fail.

Prostitution is antisocietal? It leads to division in marriages, but, having heard of labola, an african custom, a man will buy his wife for cattle. This is not out of the question though, as it is a gift for the family and then a uniting of lovers and life partners. Seeing it this way, what is antisocietal about prostituion?

If a young girl gets a nice necklace for herself from her boyfriend and decides to kiss him, what is wrong with that?

Now, if a person is forced into sex it is like slavery, and that is bad, yes? If a parent forces them to have sex then it is against the rights of the child, against humanitarian laws, and so forth. To stamp out forced sex we could open up a shelter by pitching a tent somewhere like on the outskirts of a farm and then build prefabs out of polyester for them. This is cheap and they could be reunited with thier families eventually if they are run aways, or remain there if they have nowhere else to go. They could also get foods from excess stocks at the supermarket - the stuff they want to throw away because it is about to expire, and blankets from churches, or reject blankets from factories.

In the chance a child cannot cry for help we could make a web site for missing children and advertise it. It is sledomn that children will stay locked in a room, and offering a reward will divide the circles that unite the prostitution underground.

Undercover cops could disguise themselves as 'perverts' and then throw money around to get noticed, a pittance for the state of course. They could just use the net to hack out sites that contain the right pixellation for the expressions of child pictures that cause some sort of distortion on the display, or, use a hacking program to look for contours that match the child's features. In the bag man!

The trafficking of Cuban women and children for commercial sex, are encourage by their families to obtain food or money. Hotel workers, taxi drivers and the security personnel involved in the tourist industry, facilitate the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children by tourists, meanwhile the corrupt regime authorities look the other way.

The regime provides very little information on child prostitution, and block human right organizations from finding out about human rights abuses. The regime doesn’t acknowledge that child sex trafficking exist. The regime economy profit from sex tourism in order to prop up the worker's paradise. It is ironic that the regime, because its economic problems and the revenue the sex trade generates, allow it to attracts more tourists. As Yoani Sanchez says, “the cycle of sex for money comes full circle.” What a shame.
