This talk usually begin on school campus. Guys who have sex with girls always tell their friends who the girls are. Then these are the girls get the bad reputation weather or not they are true. This makes me mad and it isn't fair. Why is the guy "cool" and the girl everything but cool?

Age-old stereotype. I suspect that it had something to do with the fact that female promiscuity was typically an anomalous deviancy and male promiscuity was standard fare across a wide array of various cultures because of the fact that evolutionary impulse necessitated that males "spread their seed" as widely as possible to ensure reproduction, whereas females needed to be choosy about appropriate mates to select one who would protect them during the pregnancy and nursing periods, an impulse that has survived to this day, meaning that males still generally view sexual activity in a recreational sense and females still generally view sexual activity in an emotional sense.

To be totally fair, I've seen more women applying the "slut" label to another woman than I've seen men do it. Some men will do it, but in my experience, women are far more likely to do it.

I think it's because women are much more judgmental of each other than men are to each other.

I've never seen or heard a straight male act like he's best friends with a guy and then when the guy walks away start off on a tirade about how he was dressed. I see this with women all the time.

When a man sees another man wearing something weird, he'll joke about it. Often directly to the guy wearing the weird ****. Something like "Elton John called, he's looking for his shirt back" or "Dude, what the ****'s up with those pants? You look like a sea lion squeezed into a condom."

A woman would probably just avoid the dude in the leather pants.



Conversely, women will look at another woman and say "Hi, you look GREAT tonight. I love that shirt! Where'd you get it?" to her face but as soon as she turns around "she'll say to her friend "OMG! Dis you see her shirt? Does she really want to breast feed America with her tits hanging out like that? What a whore!" and her friend would say "I know, Gawd!"

A dude wouldn't really say anything to this woman because he'd be staring at her tits the whole time. When sh walked away he'd turn to his friends and say "Holy ****! Did you see her tits?!?!?? I wanna wear them as a hat!" and his friend would say "Huh? Sorry, I was looking at her ass, what'd you say?".


In other words: men are simple, women are complicated.

Pretty simple. It's no accomplishment to get a guy into bed. Most teenaged guys will have sex with any female, even double-baggers. Having sex with a non-slutty female is considered an accomplishment, because they are pretty selective and it says something about how awesome you are.

However, I think the negative connotation is on the decline, slowly. It wasn't considered cool for a guy to be slutty at my high school. Of course the dominate social group there was the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

But, "sexually active" girls aren't usually considered sluts, in Oregon 10 years ago, at least. A slut is a girl who will do it with almost anybody. A sexually active girl who does her boyfriend after dating him for 6 months would be considered pretty normal at circa 15 years old.

Yeah, back when I was in high school, one of my friends would always say, half-jokingly, "Lets go find some sluts." Sluts were considered fun for weekend recreation. Nobody said, "Lets go find some prudes." The other fun kind of girl was the kind who liked videogames and sports. The real insult was "cocktease," i.e. a girl who acted slutty but wasn't. lol Just my experience with the term.. (:
