Do You Support Laws Mandating Condoms in Porn?

The real issue is that it's treating the people involved like idiots that can't even make their own decisions towards their own person.

That's kind of like saying hard hats should be voluntary on a building site, or gloves should be voluntary to health care workers handling blood, or face nets should be voluntary for bee keepers. This is a health and safety at work issue.

We all run into money troubles sometimes, even porn actors, and there are times when we just need that job and will do it out of desperation, and if the law isn't there to say that that hard hat is mandatory, or that condom, well......

Another issue for me is that sadly, increasing numbers of incresingly younger children are finding ways to view porn. I absolutely don't want them getting the message that sex with a bunch of strangers is OK without a condom. I do want them to know that consensual sex whenever with whomever and however is totally OK, but you damn well protect yourself.

No, I don't support them. If you want to act in porn, you accept the risks that come with the territory. STDs and pregnancy are two of them.

Wow, you want to punish people. You want the job to be risky. You don't want them protected by safety regulations because you want them to suffer.

Gloves for health workers are definitely different from the other two examples. In that case you are preventing harm by the health care worker to others, via their contact with previous patients. Hard hats are a little harder to show that it prevents harm to others by the worker wearing it. Same with the bee keeper's outfit. This is not to say that they shouldn't or wouldn't wear them. But in those two cases it should be their choice. Consequently, because it can also be seen as a personal safety, they should not be prohibited from wearing them.

In context of the thread topic, the medical worker's gloves are the most comparable. Mandating their use in porn, would protect one porn worker from another who might have a health risk.

that's authoritarian california for ya. Btw I think the proposed law is stupid

Considering what takes place in porn and the nature of the act itself, I can't help but chuckle in amusement.

I worked on both Prop 60 and LA measure B. Don't actually support either though. Dumb law.
