Actually they did, if you think about it. Since their goal was to look identical, since the goal was met then they got their money's worth. They didn't necessarily go for any given standard of beauty.
 
I can actually understand the boyfriend thing. It sort of makes sense. I find the wanting to be exactly alike thing unhealthy, mentally speaking. I also find it much more impressive when twins separated at birth or close to it find that they have lived very similar lives or have very similar habits, interests, skills, abilities, or other things.
