I just thought I'd share this terrific documentary about a group of young men transitioning from their birth gender to their real gender. It's very unsensational, very un-tricksy and all the more powerful for that. It doesn't get deep into debate about how or why these characters reached the conclusion that they were born into the wrong bodies, but answers to those kind of questions emerge without needing to be asked.

It's a great piece of work, very moving, and these young men deserve every bit of admiration that I, and I think you, will feel for them.

Admiration?
iLOL

No.
Simply no.

Ah yes, the celebration of delusion. My, how we have "progressed".

Never fear. I don't think anyone would ever accuse you of having done that.

If that means not trying to convince boys they are girls, I'm alright with that. ;)

Yes, admiration. It takes a lot of courage to accept this about yourself but it's a whole other level to speak of it openly and tackle it head on like this. You don't understand the issue in the slightest. It makes you uncomfortable so you mock it.

How awful. The doctors who did this should go to prison for a very long time.

No. There is noting to admire.

Since it is not a delusion... and since you don't even seem to know why it isn't... your post is irrelevant.

Since it is not unethical, but is actually APPROPRIATELY treating an issue, your lack of education on this issue renders your post irrelevant.

So should you, but just as with your comment, this has no relevance to the subject of the thread.

Here are your posts:

Just making sure that folks know that, even though your words could appear as definitive statements, they aren't.
iLOL
You have no point. It is a given that folks are speaking their opinion on the matter.
There is no reason for admiration.

Why? Are you not as tolerant as you claim?

Why? Do you believe tolerance is a virtue?

No, I don't. But you presumably do, which makes your wish to have me incarcerated hypocritical.

Right, because being convinced by ideologues that you can somehow change your gender through the administration of harmful synthetic hormones and surgically mutilating one's genitals is certainly not delusional.

It's a shame some in your alleged profession have chosen pc nonsense over science.

If they liked science, they wouldn't have become psychobabblers.

Birth gender? No. It's easy to differentiate between between the boys and the girls at birth. Just look between their legs. The ones with innies are called girls. The outies are called boys.

At birth, that's how you do it. As they grow and develop awareness of self kids learn for themselves who they are. The controversial aspect of this is whether you believe that gender is purely a chromosomal state and not a combination of genetics, neurology and socialisation.

If you accept the somewhat reductionist idea that innies are girly and outies are boysy then that's very easily resolved with surgery. Unfortunately, or do I mean fortunately(?), it's all a bit more complicated than that.

We clearly have a difference of opinion. The biggest difference being yours if fueled by ignorance and intolerance. I'll stick with mine thank you.
