We are. Now, same sex marriage is legal, some people (mainly some Christians) in this country are protesting that, frustrated by their lack of continued control of such laws, a few people are fighting them (wrongly) with violence rather than facts and words.

To hear Roguenuke and/or Chromium (I forget which is which or who said what sometimes), Christians are driving gays to suicide every day.

Well, I don't agree with that. But instead of reaching out with compassion they respond with bitterness and hatred.

I wouldn't blame anybody for somebody committing suicide.

Please show where I said that or even suggested that. You tend to exaggerate what people have posted. There is persecution by Christians going on against gays. That doesn't excuse violence against any Christians by those who support same sex marriage, but it does show that there are two sides to this, and Christians, including the ones being attacked are not simply being targeted for being Christian. They are being targeted, whether verbally/gesturing (which is completely legal, no matter how rude some feel it is) or physically (which is illegal and should be prosecuted), for their message that is saying that implies if not outright says that they want to prevent same sex couples from getting legally married, that they feel they are abominations, and in some instances, even citations from the Bible mentioning that homosexuals should be put to death.

There are websites that basically say those things which belong to the sponsors of these protests. There are plenty of anti-ssm protesters, politicians, Christians who are claiming wrath of God for any natural disaster that they can possibly link to gays in some way.
