To Be a Supporter of Gay Rights and SSM, What Must Your View of Religion Be?[W:107]

Re: To Be a Supporter of Gay Rights and SSM, What Must Your View of Religion Be?

You are blaming homosexuals for self-harm because people LIKE YOU attack them. Then you attribute self-harm as a consequence of being gay. Then you say that being gay is a sick evil.
It's called desperately grasping at straws when people do that. I'm personally not responsible for any self harm, at least not any more than any other healthy person. So clearly homosexual orientation is not a direct cause.

Any attempts to slap away the desperate hands are futile. Though I thank you for speaking the truth, I think you may find it frustrating attempting to speak truth to those that openly reject it.

I didn't make either of those claims.

I don't think you're a member of WBC, I said that your behavior reminds me of them.
If somebody is successful in demonizing others, they feel justified in their beliefs whether they are correct or not. Maintain that you did not abuse him off being a supporter of their church.

Thank you.

I kinda thought I could support SSM and still respect religion and practice my own faith according to my own conscience and not hate, condemn, ridicule or trash my Christian breathren that view the issue differently than I do. I'm getting the idea that that is, in fact, wrong. To be considered truly supportive of gay rights and SSM, what must my views on religion and religious people be? How am I expected to treat and regard my fellow believers? Be honest, please, no platitudes. I'm not truly a supporter if my support is garnered by deception.

Could you please give me examples? I'm really not understanding your dilemma. I'm unaware of any views on "must" have to be a supporter of gay rights, I'm not understanding the conflict.

I would advise you regard all other people the way Christ commanded us to, with love. Believers or otherwise.

That never means embracing or tolerating evil.

How did Christ regard the Scribes and the Pharisees, or the moneychangers in the Temple?

Of course it doesn't. It means love. Love only means love. And Christ commands us to love our fellow man.

Tolerating and embracing evil... I don't really get where you came up with that.

How should we not tolerate evil? Execute anybody for doing evil? Aren't all man evil in our nature?

How did Christ regard the Scribes and the Pharisees, or the moneychangers in the Temple?
Christ is the person to regard people in such ways. He did not command us to justify or wrong doing by asking others what Christ did. He commands us to love. That's it.

Any attempt to justify your behavior by claiming Christ did it, appears to me to be blasphemy.
