Re: Texas: Gay-marriage ban best for children
This is my position on SSM also.....There is really a simple solution let the gays call their union with all the same benefits anything else but not marriage.
Texas: Gay-marriage ban best for children
Navy Pride, all friendly joking aside I have to tell you are obsessed with gay people. I have several friends who are gay. At least they say they are. I've never watched them having sex and other than that they are no different from you or me. Maybe your ask gay people to invite you to watch them have sex. I don't know how it works, but somehow you seem to be extremely knowledgeable of all things homosexual.
My gay friends rarely talk about gay anything. It's not a topic of conversation. As far as I know they don't spend their hours thinking, "I'm gay, I'm gay" anymore than straight people spend their hours thinking "I'm straight, I'm straight." You, my right wing friend, spend more time thinking about and talking about gay people than all the gay people I know combined! I'm serious.
You eat, sleep, walk and talk gay. You read a information about gay people. Your gay obsession now defines you. You have become the object of your obsession. If someone were to ask me to name three people on the board connected to gay/lesbian discussion I'd name Clax and my good friend and home girl, Your Star and then I'd name you.
In all that reading and talking and thinking and dreaming you do about gay/lesbian people it seems to me that you'd find good things to say as well. Maybe I'm missing it, but my gay and lesbian friends are good people. They are friends I trust, friends I value.
One of my gay friends is a 6' 7" and probably weights close to 300 pounds. He is a devout Roman Catholic. About 10 years ago he took a personal vow to dedicate his life to helping those less fortunate than him. He is a web designer. He has developed a number of sites internationally for the Roman Catholic Church and he maintains them - for free. He develops and maintains community sites assisting non-profits that assist people in need and he charges just enough so that he can maintain an apartment and put food on his table. He volunteers at his church and in the community. He doesn't own a car.
He could do very well for himself if he wanted to make a lot of money. He
did in the past. He has developed and maintained sites for people you have heard of. Through his faith he decided his life would be more fulfilling helping other people who really needed the help and that is what he does. He is gay. But, he spends most all of his time thinking about helping people than about being gay.
