Are Female Breasts Offensive

I just think USofA is way overboard on the puritanical way it views breasts.

Breaking a dress code should not be grounds for an arrest and charges.

It's just a very bizarre fixation this country has.
(and yes I full well know other countries are worse on some levels)

Yea... the USA is a bunch of prudes... we should be more like England.. no wait... France... no wait... China? Japan? Hungary? The middle east?

???

I think that a jury is required to see the evidence, first hand and decide after long and careful consideration. ;-)

They say justice is blind, which is why a jury needs to be her eyes. We might also need to use Lady Justice's scales to weigh the gravity of the situation.

They were just trying to get their spirits up so they can stroke and swing.

This is true. Not all boobs are created equal, and I would venture to say that some would be offensive.

And digs comes in with a zinger!!

given that 99+ percent of children on earth have seen and received nourishment from a human breast, no. a female human breast is about as offensive as a straw, and has the potential to do about the same amount of damage to a child's mind. until an adult informs the kid that breasts is eevul, that is. but just the female ones, mind you.

we must seem somewhat ridiculous to other animals. the sound you hear a dolphin making is laughter.

I'm still seeking nourishment from a human breast.

That sounds nice, and is true. You are just leaving a lot out.

We call our particular class of air breathing vertebrate "mammals". So we have even named our entire classification after the titty it is so unique and important. Humans males do not respond to females the way many other mammals and species do. For example in some species the female will go into heat and this causes a response in the male. Have you ever seen male dogs react to a bitch in heat?

In humans we have evolved (or have been designed?) to be able to have sexual readiness more frequently and this has been good for the species. Thus one main trigger is the female form. And the breasts are significant for sexual selection for many obvious reasons.

To ignore this part of human nature is pure foolishness. It is the sophomoric bra burning stage of a teenage girl. One does not have to live much longer to see the wisdom in practicing decency. It promotes order in society.

How do you not see this?

I would like to volunteer for the study that examines whether or not repeated exposure of males to unclothed breasts, results in a de-sexualization of breasts.

Do not be surprised if my first response is "we need more testing", these things take time. A lot of time.

Making people wear bottoms is reasonable, there are sanitary problems with naked people sitting on bus stop bench. I can understand people saying boobs are offensive, but that really isn't reason enough to make it a crime. Back boobs are far more indecent in my opinion, and yet they seem to avoid being banned.

Can Chaz Bono go topless at the beach?

It took me .05 seconds to conclude 'yes' - it does . . . note all cultures that do not sexualize the breast = therefor, breast is normally exposed.

No thanks.

It would take time - but it would happen in the US. . . this whole vying for breast-visibility that some people do remind me of the 4th grade; when all the boys got in trouble for oogling boobs in the National Geographic. It doesn't matter what they do *there* - it matters what we think and do *here* - and here we idolize the breast - they're a form of power and control.

I'd really like to know the context of this story. Were the women playing golf, did they just wander onto the golf course and start flashing guys on the course, were they sitting in their yards along a fairway and flashed guys walking by, were they drunk, were they being obnoxious and loud, does anyone have pictures? I mean I could see, based on the circumstances some cop just saying "hey ladies, you've had your fun, knock it off and put your tops on and go away." No need to make an arrest for something as harmless as showing one's tits. But there could have been some other factors. There are generally not many 45 year old tits I think I want to see but these women could have been an exception.

You are obviously not yet 58, as I am, or have much higher standards of beauty. ;-)

I don't think any nudity should be "indecent". I especially have no issue with tops being shown, male or female.

Who knows, maybe this will lead to another state that allows females to show their breasts in public. Heck, CA SC ruled that nudity is not indecent in itself. I realize that only applies to the state of CA but it could happen here too. Or they could just say that men and women should be treated equally when it comes to this issue. Or they could just rule that the women have to pay the fine. Personally I don't think they should but its also not something so important that I would spend a lot of money on a lawyer to take the law down.

To better understand:

Would you be okay with your kids stumbling upon an adult, completely naked, in a public place? What if that adult was their teacher or doctor? What if that adult was visibly aroused? What if that adult was touching themselves?

How would you feel if you were walking through a male parking lot and a guy ran in front of you and flashed you?

Just being naked in public would be fine by me. Why not? Especially if it is just topless. I'm not for total nudity only for sanitation reasons. It otherwise doesn't bother me for just being totally nude. I don't think just nudity should be considered indecent.

What would be the difference if my children saw their teachers in a string bikini or speedo? What if they noticed the teacher's arousal while clothed? How much of a difference really is there? It is all about explaining it to my children and not freaking out about it.

Touching themselves is different. Touching genitals indicates a private action that should remain private. Sex should not be in public view. Children can understand being naked, even at young ages. Sexual activities require a little more explaining and time to grasp.

How would you feel if you were walking through a male parking lot and a guy ran in front of you and flashed you?

It would depend on the situation and the person. If some guy right now ran in front of me and flashed me in public, I would probably point and laugh or shake my head and ignore him. It just isn't a big deal.

What if the adult was behaving perfectly normally? Nudity is not a bad thing in itself. Everybody has a body. they know what they look like. Some bits might be different shapes or sizes, but the general plan is the same. How would a child know if a woman was "visibly aroused"? What is inherently wrong if an adult touches themself and why would an innocent child think that it might be wrong or bad?
There's a schizophrenia in American society, which sells almost everything via a sexualised message, yet remains incredibly prudish on a personal level. There was a thread not so long ago about topless sunbathing on public beaches which is a discussion Europe had fifty years ago.
