In other words, no, marriage does not solve the problem of STD's. This is like saying crime would go away if people just stopped committing crimes. Well duh. As YS said, we live in reality, not a fantasy land.
I'm not sure if people are aware of this, but there's this thing called condoms, and as a responsible adult you can ask your partner to get tested, and also do so yourself, and refuse to sleep with them if they haven't or won't. Considering the rates of infidelity and divorce, I would say this works as well if not better than marriage.


True enough. Saving ones-self for marriage and then not cheating on your spouse is the way to guarantee you avoid giving your spouse an STD (outside of the vanishingly rare blood-transfusion, etc stories), and if both partners do this, then the couple is guaranteed. This seems to be a path that folks in our culture today are... shall we say, less inclined to follow.![]()
