What is the reason for this "pilgrimage"?
A comfortable pair of shoes and a credit card is all you need on that route. It's about as "sissy" as it gets as far as hiking goes.
I did a very modified portion of the trail in October although we did cover almost 20 miles per day.
I live in a mountainous state with challenging hiking - however the El Camino is flat with many services and intriguing villages for over night.
It is a worthy and introspective journey.
I plan to revisit this region again.
I would not think o fit as a hike but a journey.
