Well, I bought a new Dell laptop and was attempting to install Google Chrome and clicked on the wrong site to download it and all of the sudden had to get rid of 5 or 6 b.s. programs including one called Searching.com. I tried a couple of different things, most recently using something called "Junkware Removal Tool" which worked for a day or so, but then Searching.com came back and took over my Chrome again. I used JBT again and it's gone for now, but afraid it may come back. And suggestions on how to get rid of this for good? Thanks!

Windows 10?

Yes it is.

On your screen there is a circle to the left of the Windows symbol. Open it and type in an appropriate question and if there is a compatible removal tool it will deliver.

Then again, Win10 may simply remove it on its own on the next upgrade.

Other than that I don't know

PS, when downloading ANYTHING, read every page and see what 'companion' software they are offering. The last time I did it took new several seconds to even see they were piggy backing.

In the past it used to be pretty easy to see what was being bundled in, say, cnet downloads. It has become so insidious of late that the optouts are often next to impossible to catch.
