Ok guys, looking for some advice from the forum.
I'm looking to buy a cheapish tablet but have never really played or tinkered with one before. I'm very knowledgeable on computers and cell phones but just not tablets.
From what I understand, some tablets don't act just like computers but more like large cell phones. You can surf the internet, do email etc. but lets say you want to download a program from the internet and run it, you won't be able to unless you purchased it from the native app-store that comes with the tablet.
Is this true for all of them?
The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to be able to download the software and play poker on the tablet. Not through an app but through the actual program. There's a few other scenarios also where I'll need to download a program and run it, but it won't be that often.
I've heard this can be a problem with Ipads, but if the program is compatible with mac, it will run like normal on the Ipad?
Can android tablets run normal windows programs? Or only from the android app store?
Can windows tablets basically behave like a cheap laptop?
Thanks guys.
