If you look at existing grids as like a tree, they start out as major trunks at the source, and feed many small branches. A major trunk is like a big power plant, the small branches are the end users, as in our houses.
The Texans will be building new grids that instead have many small trunks originating from thousands of windmills feeding into one large main trunk before spreading out into many small branches.
The taxpayers will probably front some of the money, and the ratepayers will pay about $4 more per month to pay it back.
But there will still be issues with reliability...
