This has only been tested on a few patients, and more clinical trials need to be run, but so far, the results have been nothing short of dramatic.

Now, all we need for the media whores to do is break away from Dancing with the Stars just long enough to broadcast this breakthrough. But don't hold your breath.

Hmm. This reminds me of that science fiction story, "Flowers for Algernon".
And also of that movie "Awakenings", with Robin Williams.

In other words, I don't think anyone's claiming this is a cure, just something that causes a temporary improvement.
I wonder if such a temporary reprieve from insentience/ insanity would be a blessing or a curse, for the patient and for his or her loved ones.

I'm of the opposite mind - I think the media spends far too much time on the newest hyped "breakthrough" that will cure diseases but never actually pans out. I mean honestly, think of how often you see stories headlined "New Potential cancer/aids/alzheimers/restless leg syndrome Cure!"

Do a clinical double-blind trial, then go to the media.
