"Science and Technology" implies deep thought, complicated inventions, and massive technical engineering. However, things can be looked at from such a technical standpoint that the simplest solutions are sometimes overlooked.
Take refrigeration, for example. In northern Nigeria, a man has invented a refrigerator that keeps food cold, using no electricity. The genius in his invention is pure simplicity, and a little knowledge of the effects of what happens when a liquid evaporates.
For minimalists who would like to make as little of a footprint as possible on the earth, this simple invention will be appreciated. The reduction in electricity consumption, and resultant energy bills, will also be appreciated.
