Russia: First manned moon mission - Business Insider

Before 2030, Russia plans to land its first cosmonauts on the moon, and Europe wants a piece of the action.

They're a little late for the great space race of the 1960s, but the mission is an admirable push for the reignited interest in manned deep-space travel.

On Tuesday, at a space and technology conference in Moscow, the head of Roscosmos Energia — Russia's version of NASA — announced: "A manned flight to the moon and lunar landing is planned for 2029."

And the European Space Agency, which made history last year by landing the first spacecraft on a comet, is teaming up.

Good for them?

I just hope the Russians and Europeans will be more forthcoming on what they will discover on the moon as to NASA:

The Moon, Alien Presence on the Moon?-UFO Casebook Files

In 1979, Maurice Chatelain, former chief of NASA Communications Systems confirmed that Armstrong had indeed reported seeing two UFOs on the rim of a crater. "The encounter was common knowledge in NASA," he revealed, "but nobody has talked about it until now."

Soviet scientists were allegedly the first to confirm the incident. "According to our information, the encounter was reported immediately after the landing of the module," said Dr. Vladimir Azhazha, a physicist and Professor of Mathematics at Moscow University. "Neil Armstrong relayed the message to Mission Control that two large, mysterious objects were watching them after having landed near the moon module. But his message was never heard by the public-because NASA censored it. "

For whom? The Europeans?

The Russians, I guess I am not going to get all that worked up over the Russians doing something in another 15 or so years that we did almost 50 years ago.

Never be complacent, when a declared enemy aligns itself with a treacherous ally.

Mind explaining this?

I expect that the conspiracy nuts will do one of two things depending on what Russia says. If Russia says that there is no US flag on the moon then they will cry out that they were right all along and that the US lied about making it to the moon. If however Russia does make it to the moon and says yes, there is a US flag on the moon then Russia going to the moon will be declared a hoax by those same conspiracy nuts and nothing will change for them.

Might be that they are considering pursuing the mining of H3.

Who has claim rights on the moon or Mars? 500 hundred years from now or sooner there will be disputes especially for mineral rights on Mars. How stupid.

IF they do it, I will probably be impressed - until then...whatever.
