We are already in the Universe.
I meant if there's something else out there, being-wise.
We are already in the Universe.
Like the UN?
About all we can hope for is long distance communications.I meant if there's something else out there, being-wise.
UN is weak as ****.
I've always held the belief that there is only one situation where humanity may come together. That situation is a non-man-made event/party (aliens, assuming they even exist) that threatens to make humanity extinct. I don't believe anything else will ever unite humanity.
How about the threat of lacking money?
NASA is great in the space research while many countries lag behind. The European Union and China are catching up but are still way behind. Is it necessary and feasible to integrate all the institutions into one?
I dont get what youre trying to say.
Humans can hardly unite to figure out which toppings they want on their pizza
The heathens who put pineapple on pizza should be lined up against the wall and shot.
I understand. Selfishness will always stand in the way of genuine collaborationExample: Recently one of the possible candidate to go to Mars said the vehicle is being designed to allow the astronauts to stand on a platform so they will step on the surface at the same time. This will avoid any argument about which nationality was first. Space exploration could get very tricky in that should one country land on a planet like Mars then politics will eventually enter in like well what part of this geography belongs to what country. Then there is the profit motive should they mine for precious minerals and know more than anything mining will be upmost in importance in space exploration. What set of laws or rules will apply to which country will get what. In other words as we achieve near miracle scientific achievement good old fashion politics will raise its angry head.
How about the general threat of not having money then?
Impossible.
Money doesn't get destroyed, wealth simply gets transferred from nation to nation.
Transactions aren't destructions.
So the threat always remains = and people always remain united VS the enemy is destroyed = people no longer need to remain united.

When there are spies, you don't foster friendly competition but deepening distrust and retaliationI actually think we can make more progress by keeping them separate and fostering competition (preferably of the friendly sort).
What the hell are you talking about? I just told you that the threat doesn't remain on a global level.
Countries compete with each other to have the most wealth transferred to themselves, that doesn't sound like global human unity to me.
