Michael Johnson searches the past for clues to his speed.

As a former track and field athlete, I was watching another documentary on Bruce Jenner, somewhat of a hero of mine since he won the 1976 Decathlon event during my junior year in high school while I was on the track and cross country teams. Well I came across this documentary by Michael Johnson (another Olympic track great) just after watching the one on Jenner. Thought it was very interesting.

Very interesting, though,....
Considering we can follow back our ancestors on my father's side of the family to 1348 his view to the past is short. Considering that Homo Sapiens started some 200.000 years ago, I cannot see far back either.

PS: It is also noteworthy that, though, the evolutionary selection of slaves was discriminatory, as a group they had it pretty good comparatively, once they made it to the plantation. They were better nourished, clad, clothed than most every other population at the time.
