Do most airline passengers vomit?Sounds cool but I think most of passengers will be vomiting.

Do most airline passengers vomit?
this is so cool. i think the time estimate is about as far off as you can get, but man, is it a great idea.
Whats the deal with the Left's worship of Elon Musk ?
I have yet to be impressed by anything he's accomplished on a technical level so far.
I think he takes advantage of the universal technical naivete of people and then push' s his " breakthroughs " as world changing knowing no one, at least on the left will question his claims
He wants to terraform Mars by nuking it, for Gods sake. Lol !!
Job security as an airline pilot threatened?
Uhh, no? I don't work for an airline.
And this thing aint getting built in ten years.
The way I think the hyperloop will work is a semi or auto will just drive up into a capsule and boom you are shot towards your destination at 800 mph. There will also be capsules for freight containers and passengers. There will be a network of hyperloops connecting all the major cities built right along the highways as public land is available. Once a capsule is at top speed it takes very little energy to move it as it levitates and has no drag caused by friction. So it will take a fraction of the energy to transport freight and people, and all of the energy can derive from renewable. It will be cleaner, faster, cheaper, and safer than any mode of transportation. It's a game changer. One company that has been working on it since 2013 claims all technical hurdles have been solved and they plan on building the first one by I believe 2019. They have a plan to build out a network of them across the U.S.

Problems. First, its Elon Musk next is with interconnection to all major cities.
Hyperloop lines will have to be confined to flat terrain and moderate distances
Moving at 800 miles an hour even over a small incline like a modest hill would spell disaster for the capsule and its occupant
Want to go through the Rockies? Ain't going to happen.
So that limits its application greatly. Next, we already have Trains that can exceed 350 mph and planes that can cruise at over 580 mph.
A 200 mph increase doesn't justify the massive cost that it would take to build a Hyperloop.
Next, freight Tranes are already one of the most efficient if not THE most efficient way to move freight.
Next, renewable energy sources are inherently unreliable. Just ask Germany who decided stupidly that it was going to be the first Nation to be powered by 100 % renewable energies
They're now building coal fired plants as fast as possible to make up for the inherent lags that come with renewables.
Why in the hell didnt they see that coming?
If anything this is just Musk flexing his ego by promoting something that its wildly Impractical. Like his spacex rocket
Musk has pulled the wool over the eyes of so many people. ...Lol
Do you think this is fake like the moon landing:
They've landed the last two rockets. Without re-usable rockets Spacex is already a fraction of the cost to launch satellites than their competitors. With re-usable rockets they are going to be at least 30% cheaper.
How Elon Musk exposed billions in questionable Pentagon spending - POLITICO
Is this pulling wool over people's eyes or has Spacex done something revolutionary that has and will drastically lower the cost to space. Anyway I know bias when I see it so I realize none of this matters, nor Paypal, 400,000 pre-orders of model 3, great revies on model s and x, etc.
No I dont think its fake nor do I think the Moon landings were faked, and Blue Origin beat Musk to the punch anyway.
I think Musk is taking advantage of Govt funding and subsisidies to fund something thats already been deemed impractical by both NASA and French Space agency CNES
Musk landed the first stage rocket and then tweeted that it was ready to go again. Thats a bit dishonest
First, its just the first stage thats going to be recoverable, the rocket. Next, that rocket wasn't re-used and the cost to refurbish rockets after their recovered is still considered to be cost prohibitive.
He and Bezos still have a long way to go before they can blast a satellite or payload again and again and only incur fuel cost.
His Hyperloop idea is a joke and there's nothing innovative about it. He shouldn't get one dime from the tax payer.
Blue Origin did orbital return, Spacex suborbital. Big difference. But it is good news both companies are on the path to re-usability as the competition will drive down costs. And that is my major concern, to drive down the cost of government. And according to SpaceX you are wrong about it not lowering costs. They are stating anyone choosing a re-usable rocket for their launch will get a 30% discount, and they plan on doing this soon. So whatever it costs to get the reused rocket ready for re-launch, it is a lot cheaper than manufacturing an entirely new rocket. SpaceX also is a private company and has not received any subsidies. They in fact are saving NASA and other private companies a lot of money on their launches, and will save the U.S. military a lot of money if they would stop the cronyism with Boeing/Lockheed Martin joint venture monopoly.
As far as Musk receiving subsidies, part of them are normal stuff all large companies are privy too like property tax reductions from states who see it as a win win of keeping them in the state. The tax credits on the EV's are available to any company making electric cars and the vast majority of people buying $100,000 cars are not being influenced by the rebates. It would have an effect on the lower cost model 3 crowd but these tax rebates are about to end and given about 400,000 pre-orders with $1000 deposits for a car like two years away, I don't think it is going to break the demand for Tesla's vehicles. The federal loan Tesla received was paid back way early with interest. the government profited. How often does that happen for taxpayers. Anyway you have a lot of misinformation that is common from those who are biased and haters of Musk.
Sorry, Im not impressed by Elon Musk's " innovations "
I had a open mind until he released the Tesla.
Cobbled together tech thats been around for years and Musk calls that innovation. And then Musk exploits California's Carbon credit scam, which without it he wouldn't have been able to stay in business
So if you're a Californian shopping for a New Car not powdered by a bank of batteries you pay more to subsisidies Musk's Tesla
He wants to colonize Mars. Mars is a dead planet, there's no life and there's never been any life there.
It has a fraction of Earths gravity that could never and will never hold a atmosphere capable of sustaining life, human or otherwise
It has no molten core, which means it has no protective electromagnetic field to shield life from the Suns destructive solar winds
His plan to terraform Mars involves Nuking it...lol
He shouldn't get one penny from the US government or consumers
beats the **** out of getting yanked up 35k feet on something that could fall.
There's less stuff to hit up there. At 800 mph a cat could ruin your whole day.
a problem which i'm sure could be addressed somehow.
No doubt. Not making fun in any way of your dislike of flying but as a guy who used to fly planes for a living I'll just say that the guy driving is the first one at the scene of an accident so we have a vested interest in not crashing. Computer controlled conveyances - not so much.
Honestly I can't see how any ground based transport system can sustain those kinds of speeds. Problem is turning. I don't remember offhand how to calculate g loading from rate of turn but at those speeds you're gonna need a lot of real estate to make turns while keeping the passengers from puking their guts out - or blacking out.
Personally I'd be happy with bullet train speeds. Hell I'd be happy if the LIRR could sustain 60 mph and cut my commute from two hours each way to ninety minutes.

don't get me wrong; i trust the pilot. however, i'd travel more if it didn't require being 35,000 feet in the air. loved it as a kid; now it is terrifying for me. i have probably flown my last flight without some kind of sedative, or a lot more booze. i flew for the first time since April of 2001 this past September, and it was a fairly bad experience. i think i could probably do it again more easily now, but man, did that suck. the airline itself was a big part of the bad experience, but i won't get too much into that part of it. the trip home was a little better.
I really dislike airlines these days. It is such a hassle. I wish I still had routine access to plane. I'd never get on an airline ever again.
Fwiw I hate ladders. Going up a ladder terrifies me. My neighbors sit on their porches and laugh watching me climb ladders.

I thought you said in a previous post you were a pilot? It wasn't you?
