Not enough GPU power.
Edit: And it is most likely going to have more heating issues than previous versions.

Meh. I don't think many people are critics of Apple on the basis that they "suck." They make perfectly good products, if you're into their philosophy. Most Mac critics just aren't into their philosophy. And it's not like it's particularly hard to see why, given some of the positively weird compromises you have to make to use Apple products and the strange cultish mentality of it.
But I am not sure what's so incredible about this. To be honest, I can't see much of a difference with a Retina display. A lot of people can't even tell them apart from regular screens, if you don't tell them what they're looking at in advance.
Pure specs really don't mean anything, so who knows how fast it actually is. Point in case: the One X vs. the One S. The One X has a "faster" processor, but actually doesn't perform any better than the One S in practice because of other things about its design. Just giving the numbers doesn't tell us anything about how it runs.
It's thin and light-ish, like every Apple product for the last ten years. That is not terribly exciting either. It looks like a Mac. Macs look nice, but really, it looks... like a Mac.
As usual, there's some Mac geeks who are freaking out over it. Yes, theoretically it looks pretty powerful. That's nice, if you like Macs. But I can't say it gets my blood pumping. It's not like it time travels. It's a laptop, with a keyboard, a screen, and a clamshell design. And as usual, plenty of the weird Apple compromises and it's their way or the highway.
There's nothing particularly new about it. It's just "more" of what it already was. At least the PC market is trying things that are actually new. Not all of them work out, but it's far more interesting than just "more in slightly less space."
And for that price tag, I'm sorry, but I would laugh in the face of whoever tried to sell me one of those.

Yep - it's that Apple Mentality that keeps me away, too.

Well, since you aren't saying anything about it, that tells me there's really nothing to be exited about.
Edit:
I can't get the page from your link to load. That's proly my connection. It gets an attitude sometimes. Sure would have been nice if you had quoted the relevant portions from that page in your OP, maybe even include an img or 2 of the product. Oh well, life goes on.

If cost was not a serious limiting factor, I would probably buy this new Macbook, if I were looking for a new computer. I have a Macbook and I appreciate its simplicity of use, and it's more than powerful enough for what I need. However, this new Macbook is WAY overbuilt for what I need it for, but if I was a business professional and I needed a powerful laptop on the go, I wouldn't hesitate to get one.
I wonder how much a Windows based laptop configured similarly would cost. That SSD can't be cheap, not to mention the retina display.
The morality of abortion is not a religious belief, any more than the morality of slavery, apartheid, rape, larceny, murder or arson is a religious belief. These are norms of the natural law of mankind and can be legislated even in a completely religionless society.

I use Macs at work, they annoy the **** outta me. Not even remotely excited.

Video content does not exist at that resolution, nor is that graphics card going to render anything at that resolution.
So I suppose your photos will look nice on the display. Hooray.
My only real issue with Apple is the enormous markup on their hardware.

What I have found is this. The latest electronic Gizmo is TOO much "better" to be compatable with the last, latest electronic Gizmo that I bought. This drives me completely CRAZY. My iPad has more stuff on it than my laptop PC can store, and most Apple software "upgrades" are pathetic in having ANY "backward compatability", so that the Apple "install update" procedure is ALWAYS, 1) go buy another bigger or equal storage device, 2) backup all "user added content" from your Apple device on it, 3) install the Apple software update (that wipes out everything except itself) and 4) try to restore all the other apps and user data that you saved and 5) (always left out by Apple) see if anything you just saved/restored will still run without the "TO BE DEVELOPED" newer release of those other apps. ;-)
